DH had been waiting on a call to reschedule his kidney stone surgery (8mm stone blocking his utreur and a swollen kidney) and the doctor's office hasn't gotten back to him despite several calls from us over the last week. He is REALLY not feeling well this morning, he actually asked to leave church early because he isn't feeling well and this never happens. We called the doctor on call and he was a complete jerk saying that since he doesn't feel anything and that he isn't throwing up constantly to wait until the office opens tomorrow. HELLO my husband is a T6 paraplegic and can't feel anything below his nipples!!! I keep trying to talk Andy into going to the ER, that way they can do an u/s and if he needs surgery RIGHT NOW they will do it RIGHT NOW. He is being too stubborn and won't let me get someone to take him in.
Please pray that he is OK and will make through to tomorrow without any major events or that he will let me call someone to take him to the ER. (i would take him but I don't want my children there...it's a nasty ER)
ETA: our preacher just picked up Andy to take him to the ER. he has a temp of 103.2!!! I made him take his temp. He tried to say the temp was because it slipped in his mouth. yeah right, i made him take it again and it was the same temp.
I'll update as i know more. they just left and it takes about 15minutes to get to the ER and who knows how long he'll be waiting. Hopefully not long.
They are taking him to a room right now to check him out. and of course when he just called me he told me "well you'll probably be mad at me that I didn't tell you this when we got home from church, but when i went to the bathroom there was red fleshy blood in my urine." i joked with him and said "well you better call your employer and get life insurance!" (this is how we deal with situations like this, he thought it was hilarious and it made him laugh when he wasn't feeling well)
I am so glad that he made it to the ER. I will pray that he is alright. Please keep us updated and hang in there. I can only imagine how worried you are right now.

Andy had surgery last night. They placed a stent in his uretur around the stone to allow urine to pass. The surgery went really well, his fever is gone. They are hopeful for being able to discharge him early this evening. Once the infection is gone they will continue on with removing the stone Feb 11th.
Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers.
