Default Packing for a Crop (Pictures added of cards made)

Man- I've never really had to pack for a crop before as all my stuff was always boxed up and in my closet. I usually ended up with my travel bag, an egg crate full of paper and one or two stamp boxes. This time I have a still has quite a bit of room in it travel bag and a small container of stamps and I still feel like I grabbed too much paper. I want to be overprepared, yet not crazy.

During the week I drew out about 20 sketches of card ideas and made a general list of things I could work on. From then I just grabbed papers that I thought would fit this or that card. Did the same for stickers/embellishments and stamps.

I'm so looking forward tomorrow night. I haven't been to a live crop in ages... probably before Thanksgiving last. I have high hopes to get like a bazillion cards done. Some will be similiar in nature because I need to make Confirmation cards for hubby's kids, thank yous for Caleb's birthday, etc.

How many of the 20ish (I think it's slightly over) designs do you think I'll make? How many cards total done? It's a 6pm-midnight crop and we usually get there at 5:30 so we can eat right away and then get to work. (It's a friend and I going)

And while we're at it- and I'm feeling self-conscious just posting that yay, I may actually have something to post and show after tomorrow- what do you pack when going to a crop? Do you plan out specifically what you need (basically starting the project at home) or do you just grab what suits your mood and let your creativity get to ya?

How fun! I bet you'll get atleast 10 cards done. (If you stick to similar cards with a few of them) I know I end up chatting so much it's hard to scrap, but that's half the fun.
I kept telling myself I didn't need to bring everything with me to this last crop, but alas, I pretty much did. I packed everything up into two big boxes. But I knew I was the only one with a Cricut, the carts and a lot of other tools, ribbons and things that the others' wouldn't have, so I wanted to bring plenty to share. But I tried to sort and bring just pictures I wanted to scrap, instead of bringing 100 of them that would just confuse me. I think your idea of sketching out designs and bringing the paper and stuff needed for those cards is great.
I can't wait to see your work! You're going to have a blast!!

Oh I have way more then two boxes of stuff. It's sad really. I've been trying to use more of the paper I have. Those packs are convienant, but give you a lot of random and doubles too.

They have a cricut at the shop and we can use it. I'm debating about it... but am sort of afraid of the learning curve getting in the way of my working. LOL

    I said BIG boxes. LOL!
and you should give the cricut a try! I bet you'd love it. Even if you just cut a few simple things. I'm sure there will be someone standing by to help you, if you need it.

I used to take a suitcase and another rubbermaid-type container. Felt sort of silly taking the suitcase, but it was nice to have it on wheels.

Now I have the large Creative Memories bag (not the wheeled kind, but the shoulder bag...don't remember what it's called) and their tools tote, so I usually take those along with the same rubbermaid container. Like I said in the cavewoman thread (LOL...all non-Feb. 08ers are probably saying right now, right?), I have tried to take a smaller amount of stuff because I found that I was taking lots that I didn't need, but at the same time I do bring most things that I think I really might use.

It' so hard to decide! You don't want to take so much that, like Charys said, you just get confused, but at the same time you don't want to wish you had brought something else. Most of the crops I go to are longer; we get to the church around 5:00 or so on a Friday, scrap till 11:00 or midnight, and leave all of our stuff there (so nice!) and go back Saturday 8:00ish-4:00ish. It's great for a slow scrapbooker like me!

I say pack away! I have one of those rolly bag things. My step mom bought me the scrap n tote thing for a Christmas present. I pack that baby full plus a bag that I bought at a crop. You don't want to underpack and miss something. HAVE FUN!

5 or 6 designs and a total of near 30 cards in 6 hours, plus the start of another set of 6 and cricut cuts for 7 more cards. I worked like a mad woman. Pictures tomorrow- I'm tired now.
