Paper piecing challenge

Angie and I decided on a challenge that requires you to go back to the time when life was simpler. Smile For paper girls, we'd like to see entries with paper piecing. Put the cricuts away and embellish your LOs with items you have hand cut, and at least one that you actually piece together. For you digi girls create a layout that does not use a template. Entries must be posted by midnight January 24th. Have fun and remember to turn your siggies off.

Lena, mine is too LOL, but it will still be fun to get back to basics and use scissors. I have had mine for 9 days and I have played with it every day LOL

Can we add something so the digi girls can play? I have no idea what paper piecing is, but I don't think us digi girls can do it lol

I'm with Trina and I'm a paper lady and have no idea what paper piecing is.

Paper piecing is putting something together by cutting it out and gluing it together. So not cutting it out of your cricut. You can find templates to trace in a lot of scrapping magazines.

Hmmmm...gosh Trina,, I have to admit I didn't even think of the digi girls. I am really sorry!!! Do you have any ideas???

How about for the digi girls then - do a page without using a template? It's kinda the same idea as not using a Cricut (templates make it faster, you just have to 'clip' things instead of cropping it yourself).

still slowly catching up on the lingo around here! by "template" do you mean a template that you download and place your papers etc into Trina? I guess I do use templates but I make them myself I just use clipping masks rather than cropping stuff to size.

Yep, that's what I mean - basically, for the digi girls, design the page yourself and 'cut' everything yourself. Smile

Ok, so I approached this as if I had to 'cut' everything out - so that's what I did Smile

do cards count for challenges or do they need to be layouts?

Okay, if cards count, then I made this one last night. It was fun! Its a card for my MIL. I am trying to send her a card each month with pictures of the kids in it. I may have already said that on here before, so if I did, forgive me for repeating myself lol. Anyway, I really love this one and I think she will like it. If cards don't count then I will make a layout sometime Blum 3 It was fun though, I enjoyed doing it by hand.

here's mine. I wante to stitch around it but my machine doesn't have the right stitch (and my hand drawn ones don't look right).

Is anyone else going to attempt this one or should Katie get it by default? LOL

I have an idea, but it might take me a couple days to finish it. I think I could have it done by Wednesday night. So depending if others are interested, I'm not sure if we should wait.

This is easy for me since I don't often use templates. Many templates are not compatible with my program anyway.
