Please inspire me ... fast! - Card pictures added post 5

I just realized that I need to make a card ASAP for the baptism on Sunday. I'm the godmother. I totally forgot all about the card!!! I am not sure when I will get time to sit down and make it, if my kids will let me ignore them, I can do it this afternoon.

Meanwhile, my crop room (the guest room) is COVERED with clothes that I need to tag for consignment. Talk about a distractor. And I just sat down to do the final phone tag layout in group A. It was while I was gathering the papers that I realized I needed to make this card still. So it looks like I might not get to the layout until Monday, unless the stars align and everyone in this house gives me some free time. I'm going clothes shopping tonight after dinner, I have nothing to wear to the baptism! But that will kill my evening hours for anything creative, and then we're leaving tomorrow as we have to drive 2.5 hours and stay in a hotel. DH will be all about buying a card, so I"m better off making the card BEFORE he gets home from work.

So if you have anything to inspire me, something I could completely copy that's baptism themed, I'd LOVE IT!! Cause I'm not even ready to think of something off the bat. I have to run to the bus stop right now to fetch my kids. Ugh.

THANKS!

Most of mine, I use baptism paper. But maybe something can inspire you...

This design might fit a baptism card well. (It's a wedding card)

Or this is a confirmation card... but you could put a baptism statement instead and glue a dove or shell behind a piece of vellum instead. (My vellum had words on it)

Easter Card...

Hope that helps.

Love the 3rd card Mish. Gwen, don't have one saved but I'm thinking just a cross on the front.

thanks, Mish! I wish I had some good paper like that.

I ended up searching some SCAL sites and found a cool cross/heart cut file that I ended up using. This card took me 90 minutes to do ... doesn't look like it, does it? But most of the time was spent searching, and then I struggled with what papers to use. I like the pink/gray combo. I didn't realize the inside picture was so blurry, I took it in a hurry. So only posting a small version, just so you can see the jist of it (used the same font on the quote as I did with God Bless Charlotte)

charlotte card

inside card

Here's what it says:
Lord, bless this tiny infant,
Who is brought to You today,
And teach those precious little feet,
To follow in Your way.
Lord, bless the baby's parents, too,
And with your loving care,
Grant them all the happiness,
A family can share.

And then for kicks, here's DH with the Valentines he made the kids last week. Smile

Very sweet card, indeed, specially what's inside! Sweet your dh posed with the cards. Smile What exactly is scal? A CD with a ton of fonts or is it linked to the cricut? I thought it was a proggie filled with fonts and wingdings, but now I'm confuzzled.

Your card turned out perfect I think! I love the pink and gray!

Charys, you might as well just take the plunge. Seriously, lol. It is so much fun in addition to Cricut Carts. It won't take away the desire for the cool carts out there, but it is fun to play with when you want something that the carts don't offer.

Tracey, SCAL is a program that works with the Cricut. It isn't made by Provo Craft but it works with their machine. You type the words ( with any font that isn't too fancy/swirly etc) or put the image you want to cut into the program, sort of like with Cricuts Design Studio and it will cut it with the cricut. Some people make their own, I have dh make mine lol. Like the transformer image and the Rocket one on layouts I did recently, but there are tons and tons of free ones online that other people make and give away. I love SCAL, but it doesn't keep me from wanting all of the great carts that Cricut makes lol.
