First, let me apologize with being a little hit and miss in posting lately. I check in regularly but I don't always have time to really post. Living amongst boxes really takes away free time. We are enjoying our new house though and I look forward to feeling settled in the future.
Anyway, I just wanted to share my first 12x12 printed book. They have a new option on shutterfly now for padded books and I love the effect. The book is beautiful. It is 98 pages! Therefore, I'm just going to show a couple pics so you get the idea. But seriously, those of you who do digital, this is the way to go.
A couple of inner pages:
Oh wow!!! I have been inspired to get going on my digital pages!!!! This is beautiful! and the pages will last forever!
I just looked at the price on the website. holy cow woman!!!

Great job, Stephanie! It's beautiful. That padded cover is really cool.
Liz, are you scrapping 12x12 or 8.5x11? If you're scrapping 8.5, then you can print through Lulu.com. It's what I'll do. DH did a book and it only cost him $24 for almost 100 pages. PM me if you want more info.

That is really gorgeous!
I guess I just think that if I made paper albums with that many pages I would likely have spent just as much when factoring in embellishments!
Good luck settling in--for me that is the most work and the most stressful part of moving, but also the most fun! It's hard not to feel settled. We moved 7 times in our first 6 years together and when we bought this house I told Bruce the only way I was leaving was in a wooden box LOL I've since changed my tune but it is hectic for sure! Glad you are enjoying your new place

Sweet angels in our hearts 6/09 & 9/10. I will always carry you.
Can I ask how much it cost to get printed? I really want to print Scout's book after the first year and I want to know how much people charge for them. I scrap in 12X12, too
The cost was $100, which is much less than printing the pages individually. If you do the math on how much it would cost to print 98 pages individually and buy an album with extra pages, etc.... it would be about $300.
If you ever want to do a book through shutterfly, just wait for the sales. They are almost always running a 20% off sale, at least. Just register so you get the sale emails.
That looks really nice. You will treasure it forever. I really like the "journey" page. What a cute pic and quote! TFS!
