QOTD Wed

What is the most mischievous thing you did when you were younger? I know your all shouting out Karen's name right now! LOL

I was grounded for something can't remember and my dad was nice enough to let me invite my neighbor friend over. Well I said Dad can I just walk her home cause I have not even been outside in a week. He was SO nice and said yes. Well, I did walk her home but before I left I called a friend to drive by at the same time to pick me up. My poor DAD! Naughty girl

um, just one? cause I wasn't the best kid, I have several. what age range? I was much worse as a teenager.

I'll give you my worst from before I was 10 ROFL

When I was 9, new houses were being built right behind mine and I liked to go check them out by climbing through the basement windows. Well, one day I had a friend over to play and decided to show her the house directly behind mine (ironically, a good friend from college lives in that same house right now, I should tell her this story ). We climbed in and I found a can of black spray paint. The drywall was already up inside, and I decided to spray paint the worst words I knew on the wall (I think they were a$$ and $hit - the language filter turned them into ****). Of course, I got caught ... the owner of the building company lived in the house next to mine and his wife saw me climb into the basement window. I got in soooooooooooo much trouble for that one, and my mom was shocked that I even knew those words.

yeah, you don't want to know what I was doing at 15-16 ... and I'm scared that Andrew and Natalie are my "punishment" for the bad kid I was ... I love them, but they sure can get into trouble!

When I was 10 and my sister was 8, I convinced her to let me test pepper spray on her. She ended up having a mild asthma attack and I got BEAT.

Okay you brave girls convinced me to tell the rest of my story.
Well my sister came with me she was grounded too. Our friend took us to a bowling alley to drop us off. We ended up meeting some guys and lived in their car for a month! I was missing for a month with my sister. We did call to say we are okay but not coming home. Well we ran out of money so we went to our old jobs to get our last check. What I did not know was my dad had called our old work and said to call him and the cops if we showed up. They did and we went to shelter for a week!

Wow...those are some stories!

I was pretty much a goody goody as a kid and teenager. The most mischievous thing I can think of (nothing compared to your stories!) is when my friend and I were at a boys house in our neighborhood. He left with his parents and asked us to paint his bike for him. We opened the paint can with a screwdriver and spilled paint everywhere! All over their picnic table, the bike, and us. Since I was such a goody goody, this was really bad in my parents eyes. I was grounded for 2 weeks. 2 WEEKS..WHAT????

I was a really good kid. I didn't really sneak around except for when I had a boyfriend, then they always convinced me to sneak out to meet them, etc. Wish I could think of some funy prank or something I did as a kid, but not sure there is anything.

I can't believe some of you.

Tia, you were nuts. Your poor parents!

Nancy, your poor sister!

Gwen, I never would have guessed that you were such a naughty kid!

The most mischievous thing I can remember doing was that I was intentionally late for a class just so that I could get detention. I never got in trouble and I wanted to see what it was like. My teacher gave me way more tardies than normal before she actually gave me detention.

Non-school related I did sneak out of the house with my friend when I spent the night at her house. We never did anything except walk around the neighborhood. I guess it was just the thrill of being out when we weren't supposed to. And when I was 6 or 7 I took some toys from a 3 year old. I put them in my purse and brought them home. When my mom saw them, I told her that I must have forgotten that they were in there.

I was a goody two shoes who never did anything wrong. Okay thats not true, I was a rebeller in H.S. but I never did anything more than lie to my parents about school. I just hated them with a passion that I hope my kids never hate me with. That's over and done with. We're good friends now.

I do remember bribing my sister (who is seven years younger) several times with "I'll give you gum" but I can't remember what for. BTW in college, I bought her this huge pack of gumballs from Costco (West coast version of Sams club). She laughed and said it was about time I paid her for my debt.

Oh wait, I rmember, I was a kleptomaniac. I stole mechanical pencils from the kids in my class in second grade. I got sent to the principals office and stole an eraser from his office.

These are great! Sadly, I can't think of anything really "big". We were very sheltered, etc. so we were pretty limited on getting into things growing up.

I do remember a time when my siblings and I were with about 10 other kids at a campground and the parents weren't around so we decided to try and build the biggest and best torches. (Don't ask me what possessed us to try this....?) I think I was probably 8 at the time? Being as it was Oregon with tons of trees it wasn't a smart idea. We added all these kinds of different fuels on the ends of these enormous torches and decided to give them a go. Well.....thank God the parents weren't TOO far off, because we had a little brush fire going in about 2 minutes. Could've been so much worse!!! I shutter to think if we'd have started that national park on fire! We got in.so.much.trouble. Oh man. That's the biggest thing I remember about it! Sad

Okay, at first I was thinking about the time when I took my new bike out and my mom specifically told me not to. That was the only time I ever got spanked.

Then I remember that in 5th grade I got suspended for a half day for fighting. This kid Dan (totally geeky) pushed my friend Annie, so I pushed him back and we got caught. We were sent home early and missed the ice skating field trip. I got to hang out at the bowling alley during her bowling league and listen to the woman telling me they hoped I pop'd him good:)

I was a total, complete goody goody. The only bad thing I really remember doing, and I hate myself for it now, was helping my friends in high school write a 'love note' to the stinky girl in school from some guy. She thought it was real. I feel horrible about it now though!

I was terribly afraid of getting in trouble. I never got in trouble at school or home really either. I can think of only 2 things.

Once- I decided to sneak my big sister's blue jean jacket out to wear it to school. I was in 5th grade and when I got to school I found a pack of cigarettes in the inside pocket. I was terrified and afraid my teacher would arrest me if she found them. I didn't get in trouble or caught with them. I did get in trouble for taking the jacket- but not nearly as much trouble as my 8th grade sis got into!!!

I'm really embarrassed to tell you all this!!!
When I was 16 I dated a boy that was 2 years ahead of me. We were together for 3 years. My family let me go places (well on occasion) with him, but not w/o knowing all my business. I see now they were trying to protect me and thank God I ended up with DH, b/c my bf back then turned out to be somebody I didn't need around.

Anywho, his parents were going out of town for the weekend and were letting him stay home. I got the brainiac idea that I was going to spend the night with him. His idea! So, I lied and said I was staying at my best friend's house and had this plan to call home on three-way at bedtime (cause I always had to check in).

Well we ended up downtown at a place they call "Lover's Circle" where you can see the city. There was like 8 of us that went. Didn't quite realize at the time that people went there "parking" but that's not why we were there. No drinking, drugs, or nothing like that but a patrol officer came riding by and BUSTED!!! It was 12:45 and I was under 18- curfew law!!!! Me and one other friend got taken to Juvenile (in a cop car) b/c we were under age.

Here's the worst part. When they called home my family thought I was at my friends house so once they figured out it wasn't a mistake the officer asked my parents if they wanted to come and get me, they were SO MAD that my dad said, "Yeah, we'll come get her, TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!! They made me stay there over night! Boy was I :sorry:. I was so scared and upset. No charges ever filed and needless to say I still check in! Wink I think it scarred me for life!

LOL Good one. I was a pretty good kid too. I did do quite a few sneaky things, but nothing too big. I went camping with my HS boyfriend out in the back woods 4x4ing with his cousin and brother. His cousin brought alcohol for us and I got as "drunk" as Ive ever been. I was 16 or 17 at the time. My parents knew I was out with them, just not WHAT we were doing. They always assumed I was too good to do anything too naughty.

I also drank in a bar under age...a skanky guy that was a youth group "director" came to get me from college, out for "lunch" and just took me into the bar and ordered us drinks. I was 18!

I'm queen of Goody Two Shoes.....the worst thing I ever did was that Liz convinced me to ditch school our senior year. We told the monitor person we were going to our rival school for Foresty (I think!) and they knew (b/c they never saw us before, plus Foresty happens during the AM hours - we ditched after lunch) we lied. Liz and I got detention. Boohoo! Best thing I ever did! HAHA My response to the whole situation, that's all I get (for punishment). LMAO. NO wonder people get in trouble more often. LOL

I'm getting a kick out of these stories! I still think I'll keep my teenager stories to myself, despite the fact that I think Tia's got me beat with her living in a car for a month story. Wink

Wait, we can't insult COSTCO here. They are not affiliated with Sam's club and in my opinion are much nicer!! Smile (I could be a wee bias as I could strictly live on their blueberry muffins alone.)

Hey something good came from me living out of that car. lol If were not for me meeting the guys in the car I would not have Anthony. Oh yeah, drop your jaws now LOL. No but really I was so good as a child I was raised mormon and our house was so family family family which I loved. No rated r or pg 13 movies,no caffine, no shorts over the knee. We even had dinner once where we would use yarn and tie everyone's hands together but with some slack and we all ate. It was to learn to cooperate. Did I mention I have 7 kids in my family so that dinner was so funny everyone knocking everything over.
Anyways we went to church for FOUR hours every sunday and on wed nights. Then one day my perfect parents tell us they were getting a divorice! WHAT! I never even saw them argue...not even ONCE! Well thats when I went off the deep end. When I ran away that was the first time I ever left without permission. Thats why my dad thought nothing of it I mean I wore dresses to my feet Smile Well right as my dad put us in shelter my mom came right away to bust us out. She was just happy we were okay after a month since I was only 15 years old. I dated the guy in the car for a year after. He was a big dork so my mom was not too worried she was busy dealing with the divorice. Then bamo first time I got pregnant. same guy of course but I did not want my mom to raise my child I love her but this was my baby. Anthony's dad was two years older than me so he got an apartment and since my dad owned a plumbing buisness he gave him a job and put him through school. So really I have been living on my own beiong a mom since 16. Crazy huh. I just thought I would fill you all in so I can start sharing pages of Anthony when he was younger. Be warned I look like a child in those pages. Well I guess I was.

I honestly can't say I remember one  I was definitely good to the point of being too good. I remember riding bikes with my neighbors and their family down to our elementary school (a few blocks away) in 5th grade, and my parents freaked out when we weren't back when it was dark. Since I was young, I don't remember if we ever hashed out when we should be back, etc. Our neighbors and their family were from Guatemala and their parents didn't speak the best English...so I don't know if there was a communication breakdown due to language barrier or if my parents just expected other parents would have their kid back by dark. They were borderline about to call the police when we were gone for a while... I didn't get in trouble for that, though, since it wasn't really my fault.

The worst thing I did....I wasn't a horrible child. But, I did do some things. Wink

I stole a street sign. Okay, I didn't, but I was with the people who did. It was in the middle of the bottoms...seriously, who needs it anyways! Lol

One night, I lied to my mom and told her I was going camping in the bottoms. I truly was, but I borrowed money from her for some booze. I know, stupid. She wouldn't have cared, I don't think. I wasn't the smartest person back then.......
