Question for card makers

Do you tend to make cards as you need them or do you make several to have on hand to send out? JC what's easier. It seems it'd be easier to make them to have on hand like TY cards and Birthday ones and such, but maybe not. TIA

I "try" to make about a months worth of cards at a time, so I brainstorm on who's bday, anniversary, etc are coming up. I do have some on hand (from card swaps) that have come in handy, but I really like to personalize them if I can.

Me too! I always have thank you cards made too b/c my students will bring me in little treats from time to time and I like to send a thank you card home to mom and dad.

I usually have a few made but have a tendency to keep those and make new ones for each different occassion. Not sure why.

Sometimes I have some thank yous laying around, but usually I make them as I go. Last night I made 6 thank yous for patients of mine who gave me Christmas presents. Sometimes with the little guy, it is hard to keep ahead of the 8 ball Wink

I got this card organizer from Hallmark. It has a place for me to write everyone's birthdays and such. At the beginning of the month I look and see what cards I need and then I make those. On days that I am wanting to scrap but have no specific ideas on a layout, I will make birthday and thank you cards since those are the ones I seem to use most often. Then, at the beginning of the month, I look at my card needs, choose the premade that are appropriate, and then make any leftover.

Before the twins.... Biggrin
I would try to keep a few ready for last minute needs, but most of the time I like to personalize them anyway (colors, etc. that the person likes)...

I make them as I need them. I'd like to make them in advance, but I'm so far behind on my layouts that I just can't do that. But what I do try to do is make more than one of a card when I'm making one for immediate use.
