Ribbon question

I really like using ribbon but so far I've been using regular glue and it's not working too well. On some ribbons it doesn't stick, on others it goes all the way through to the front, and it's really annoying. Any suggestions on what kind of glue to use for ribbon?

I found the same thing. I got Ribbon Glue by Making Memories from Michael's - its $4.99 for a little tube but its been worth it! Smile HTH!

Glue sticks!!! It works perfectly for ribbon because it doesn't bleed through. Occasionaly I will use glue dots too, but sometimes they will leave a little "hump" in the ribbon.

Charys I only use glue sticks. They aren't working and I thought that same thing about glue dots. Basschicks, thanks for the tip. I'll look for it.

I use glue dots....I guess I don't care about the "hump" they create. LOL Wink Or make sure to buy self-adhesive ribbon.....though, I'm sure it's more expensive than regular ribbon.

I use glue dots most of the time, but I have also used mono-adhesive and it has worked well.

 I haven't had a problem with glue sticks as of yet, but maybe we are using different ribbon. Sorry you are having that trouble. Sad I guess the glue dots would be your best bet!

ITA

I've tried other solutions, glue, glue sticks, glue dots, tape runner ... Xyron is the only thing that really and truly works WELL.

Well it's kind of a loose weave ribbon, but I think I found a solution. Plain old elmers glue. It's got a very fine tip and I spread it along. It does get through a little bit but it dries clear and it doesn't leave any marks on the paper. So thank you very much for your help. I can't wait to show you guys the finished product. These cards are turning out so cute and so perfect for the girl I'm making them for.

Can't use staples or glue dots because I'm selling them and I need them to look as good as possible.
