We are really looking for a cut of a corvette for my Uncle. None of the Cricut Cartridges have one, so we were kinda looking at SCAL.
Is there anything that you need in addition to the program?
How easy is it to make SVG files from any image? Is it easy to do layers? We want it to look fairly realistic with at least two layers.
Or is Make the Cut a better deal?
I know that I have seen these threads before but don't have the time to go looking for them:)
I know that I have been MIA, but I really appreciate anything that you can tell me. We are trying to get this done ASAP.

I have SCAL.

I did download Inkscape which is a free program you can use to make svg files with layers, but I haven't really used it.

Mostly I use SCAL for fonts, or svg files I find for free online. Or I take clip art or silhouette pictures to use because they are very easy. SCAL has a feature that traces jpgs, so you can use almost any image, but in order for it to turn out good, it needs to be a fairly simple image with clean edges.
