Simple "throw together" cards

I made all of these last night. I needed some cards to send before we left for Hawaii (tomorrow). It was fun trying to be creative, though a few I didn't think my attemp worked so well. LOL!

In order of like:

My least favorite. Just an all-purpose card. I was having a little too much fun with stamps and papers. (obviously) ha.

Sympathy card for a friend who just lost her grandmother.

Then I like the following two cards. Smile

I can use this one for birthday or thank you or whatever, so that's nice.

I think those all look great! I really like that stamp you used. I need to make an anniversary card and I think you just gave me some inspiration. I have been putting it off.

It's actually two different stamps, but I liked how they looked together. Thank you!

I like the sympathy card. It reminds me of a book that I read Andrea that I had as a kid about remembering spring favorites.

Your favoite is definately my favorite. I love how it turned out with the butterfly.

Great job! I love the way you did the stamps. I think I have the circle with the lines. How did you do the butterfly on the last one? It that regular ink?

It was only 95 cents on Susan's Scrapbook Shack shop on Etsy.com!! Let me find the linky for you! I love it and her other 95 cent stamps. I must own 5 of them! Biggrin

Her shipping is soooo cheap and fast too!

thanks for the link, Charys. I googled "Rhonna Farrer - FLOWER TRIO" and found it a bunch of places (but not for 95 cents)

Charys, I noticed that the stamps you use are acrylic. What kind of ink do you use? Your stamps seem to have solid lines but when I use my acrylic stamps the ink saturation doesn't seem to work well and my lines are kinda spotty.

I've never had a problem with any of mine for some reason, and you're not the first person I've heard that happening to??? Now I'm curious if it has to do with the ink. I use the Stampabilities inkpad in black almost 100% of the time. Have you tried rubbing an eraser over your stamps? Someone posted that tip on here before. I had one stamp start looking 'spotty' as you said after I inked it, and I tried that and it worked, but I'm not sure if it would have looked bad before I did that? (If that makes sense?)

Anyone else have any ideas?

oh! I forgot, do you use an acrylic stamp block? That might help too!

Yeah I have the acrylic block. I bought a few acrylic stamps because I liked the idea of easy positioning but then I started noticing the spotty performance. I'll try the eraser trick. It is very possible that it was the ink I was using as well because I only had a cheap ink pad. I have since bought a stampabilities and a Staz-On so I'll try those.

Stampabitlies pad works great!!! Thanks. By the way, what do you use to clean your stamps?

Oh good!! So it is ink! How strange!
I just rinse my under my tap immediantly after stamping and pat dry with a clean cloth. I never use a stamp cleaner on mine, but I'm sure they work great too.
