So frustrated...

I downloaded a 5x7 card from twopeasinabucket to make a Christmas card with that is a .png. I have been trying in photoshop elements to add my own picture and I just can not get it to work no matter what I do. Can anyone help me out? I do not use photoshop all that much, so can someone give me blow by blow instructions on how to??? TIA!

Sorry, I don't have photoshop yet. (Saving for a new laptop- but it's going to take awhile since I just drained my laptop fund to buy groceries this month. Grr)

I hope you can figure it out.

Open both documents, the card and the photo you want. Click on the photo one, and drag it onto the christmas card document. Then go to your layers palette and move it to the layer below, resize (Ctrl-T on a PC) so it's the right size, and save as a new file.

If that doesn't make sense, let me know and I'll try to do some screen shots.

yeah i was also going to suggest drag and drop and for resizing (control+T but hold the shift button so that the photo won't get all weird looking) Smile

Thanks for the ideas ladies; what you are describing is what I had been trying, but for some reason I CANNOT create a new layer on the .png of the card. It just will not let me. Argh.... The pic just drags ON TOP of the card and I can not make the new layer with it. Any other ideas?

umm hmm... i am not sure. i just tried drag and drop on one of my .png files. Have you checked to see if the mode is set to RBG color? Go to IMAGE--MODE--RGB Color. Smile I am not sure if it is the same in elements though. I had it checked on indexed color and it wouldnt let me drag and drop. HTH.
