Default This was So hard to do - but I am glad I did it!

This was really emotionally draining for me to scrap, but I am SO glad I did it now (a good cry later . . .)
My son has high functioning Autism. He knows he is a little different because he has severe gross & fine motor delay, severe stutter & speech problems, Autism, vision problems - but we have not actually TOLD him that he has Autism or what it is. I do not want him to use it as a crutch or feel like he has an excuse for not doing something - when he asks why he is different we just explain how God made everyone a little different, ect. ANYWAY I have NEVER done a scrap related to his Autism even though it has been a HUGE part of his life. So today I decided it was time, although I do not know yet if I will actually print it & put it in the book.
He has been doing this "arm hugging" throughout the day ever since he was a baby, although we didn't know it was caused by Autism back then. So I decided to just sort of pay a tribute to it, since it is a part of who he is and will probably never go away! This is a 2 page spread:

oh, wow. That is incredible! And I think it's so neat that you devoted the pages to his arm hugging. What a special kid, and you're a great mom to him. I really think that he lucked out having a mom like you.

I'm a teacher and this past year had a student in my class with Autism and an unknown genetic disorder. He is the most amazing kid! I loved having him in my class!

    I love the pages!

that is fantastic!! what a great way to highlight one of your son's many qualities he looks like a happy boy!!

i know what you mean about scrapping being therapeutic for sure... the paper ones i've done have been of my dad who passed away last year and working on them helped me so much... and yes... along with the tears
