Default SWEET freecycle scores and a layout

Trying to type fast as I hear my kids screwing around and not doing homework. Good grief!!!

A woman on freecycle had offered a computer desk and side table. I replied too late, she had already promised it. Two days later, she wrote me to tell me the original person had never replied so they were mine. DH (wonderful man!) ran out to get them for me after dinner. I am so psyched! I wish I had taken "before" pictures so you could see what an improvement they are over what I had before.

First, the computer desk is my new sewing table. It's a little bit wobbly, but not enough to really matter when it comes to what I'm using it for.

The side table is in my crop corner in the guest room - it's replacing two tv tray tables and a stool (I just had crap on the stool, mostly stuff the kids make when they're in here with me). The top drawer has photo albums that I put the leftovers from my layouts and the bottom drawer has the stuff the kids can use. Most of my scrapbooks in progress fit on the bottom (I have two more that won't fit). And my printer is on top (obviously )

In the process of cleaning up the mess that is now contained by that table, I found an 8x10 from April '04 so I quickly made a layout. Thanks Charys for the "family" cut!!! I did a frame of sorts for the photo by outlining with a black marker. This is why I don't doodle, I so don't love the effect ... I mean, I love the concept, I don't like how it turned out.

I think that LO turned out great! You know, I was just reading an article on doodling the other night - I haven't even had a chance to try what they were talking about yet. But one of the things they suggested was to draw the line/doodle several times, over and over your original doodle (so it pretty much overlaps but not exactly). Don't know if that would help you to like the outcome any better, but it might be worth practicing on a little scrap or something to see what you think! I personally can't wait to try it!

    Awesome freecycle stuff, BTW!

Way to go on the stuff.

I like your doodling! I saw a LO at the scrapbook store yesterday that had doodling all over it and I was thinking I'm just too OCD to do it, but yours looks great. I may try it!

I love the color! I love red! That's awesome that you got such a good deal! I need to find something like that! I could really use that smaller table b/c it would go perfect in Ruthie's new room!

What a deal!!!!!!!! I love the red! It's so cute! I can't believe that was free. Lucky you!!

And the layout turned out really nice. I love your doodling. I think the little intersecting lines make it just right.

Yay for a great score Gwen! And the LO is great. I am no good at doodling either. But yours looks really cool, and the Family is awesome too.

I like how it turned out - I really love that title!

As for the doodling - I didn't even notice it until I read your message ... maybe a bit darker would make it stand out more?

And great job on the Freecycle - that's awesome!
