Sympathy card

I need some help with a sympathy card. My cousin lost her 4 mo. old son. I'm so numb I can't even think of the words to say.

I'm so sorry. I can't even imagine.

I made a card for my good friend who had a stillborn back in October. Let me find that post and link it for you.

This is the poem I put in my friend's card

When God calls little children
to dwell with Him above,
We mortals sometime question
the wisdom of His love.
For no heartache compares with
the death of one small child
Who does so much to make our world,
seem wonderful and mild
Perhaps God tires of calling
the aged to his fold,
So He picks a rosebud,
before it can grow old.
God knows how much we need them,
and so He takes but few
To make the land of Heaven
more beautiful to view.
Believing this is difficult
still somehow we must try,
The saddest word mankind knows
will always be "Goodbye."
So when a little child departs,
we who are left behind
Must realize God loves children,
Angels are hard to find.

and here's the post that has the pictures of the card (with some other things I posted at the time) http://www.pregnancy.org/bulletinboards/showthread.php?t=576329

I am so sorry for your cousin's loss. How absolutely horrifying, my worst nightmare. My sister lost her first as well and there are no true words to describe what you're going through or feeling. I think the poem Gwen found is very profound and I love the card she suggested. Gwen, did you ever hear from your friend? I know it took a long time for my sister to even find words to talk to people who responded.

Tracey, I did hear from her. She really appreciated the card, so I'm glad I sent it.

Shannon - how close are you to your cousin? Definitely just be there for her. Listen, give her hugs, let her talk about her loss when she's ready. My heart is breaking for her and her family.

oh girl...that is so heartbreaking to hear...I am truly sorry to you and your family. I will keep you in my prayers. Just make a card from whatever is in your heart....maybe a more general looking one with soft colours and maybe flowers. If you need any extra support and want to talk we're here for you! :bigarmhug:

Thanks ladies! My cousin and I are very close, but she lives across the country (in the army). None of their family is near by, but her parents are in route to her house. Gwen, I love that poem and I'm thinking that's what I'll use. It's really hard to know what to do right now because of the distance. I'm hoping this summer that maybe I can go to visit her by myself.
