Technique Challenge - borders - March 5th deadline

I'm really bad with using borders, so I thought a challenge involving borders would be a good idea. Smile

So, create a layout that uses borders - but not on all sides (like a frame). Either border one side, two sides, or even three. This is a great challenge for both paper and digi scrappers. I can't wait to do it too!!!!

Remember, turn off your siggies when posting on this thread. Let's give this challenge until March 5th to complete. Have fun!

So the page itself has to have borders on it, or something in the LO? I need specifics here. LOL Sounds like fun though! Thx Gwen!

The page itself needs a border on at least one edge.

This is a lame example, but I don't have time to search through more pages. The red circles on the right are like a border ... but typically borders are thinner than that.

I had such fun doing this LO. I got it done in two hours, so for me it was quick. And I think it's soooo great. LOL These are the ONLY first pics I have of baby #2, Griffin. We only had disposable cameras at that time, and the one that had first pics got ruined. I am so sad we have no naked baby newborn ones like the other babies, but it is what it is. Sad These are all I have of his first few minutes. TFL

Carrie, that's perfect! great use of a ribbon as a border. and this layout is wonderful! disposable camera or not, those photos are priceless! bummer that you don't have the very first photos, but at least you still have the ones that you do.

I hate to make you keep this open just for me, but I'd really like to scrap..I won't get to until Wednesday night though, so if it's too late, go ahead and close this....:) I will still try to tackle this personally though. Smile

Freya, can't wait to see it!
Charys, I'm still working on it too. So let's just leave it open through Saturday midnight (so technically Sunday, but really at the end of Saturday).

Here's mine. Smile It's half of a two page layout, but only using the border page for the challenge.

OK, here's my border layout I made at the beginning of Feb. I'm scrappin' today, so we'll see if I have anything by the end of the day that's better! The bottom is actually the left page, and the top is the right. I like the way the 2 sided border carries the purple from one LO to the next... It looks fantastic in the book! And I could not resist the little skeleton sticker waving! (most of the paper and embellishments were from Target one-spot!)

Freya - I love the waving skeleton, that's adorable! that's a great layout! I love using purple on my Halloween pages too. Smile

I'm going to wait on Charys and Katie before I close this challenge ... hoping they'll post something tomorrow. Anyone else working on one?

Well here is mine. I swear I am setting some kind of world record for slowest scrapbooker on the planet! This took me H-O-U-R-S! And why?! ROFL It is so plain! Ugh. No wonder I am having trouble finding time for this! I have got to simplify. Anyway, here is my layout. I have been wanting to do a Christmas LO using pink for a long time so I finally got around to doing that! Smile

Katie, that's not plain at all!! it's WONDERFUL! I've wanted to do a layout with mini gifts like that for a while, and maybe I'll do that for the next birthday layout on my list. Smile It looks really great!
