Default Tommy's cars ~ an altered case

So...this is my first completed Christmas gift. Yep, Christmas. I'm going to be smart this year! Last year I waited until almost the last minute and it was SO STRESSFUL. Snowy weather, BUSY stores, toddler in tow. Not this year! I'm also going to try to give as many handmade gifts as I can, especially to the kids.

This is for my 5 year old nephew. He LOVES matchbox cars and has a million of them. It was about $9.50 total to make. I'm going to put a clear coating (Mod Podge) over the top of it to protect it. I'm going to make 1 for Miles too, I think it's so fun!

Nancy, have you gone to Crafts Direct since being in MN? If you haven't been yet...you NEED to go. I got the case there. Michael's might have one - it was just unfinished wood and they have a bunch there.

    that's so cool!

from a mod podge perspective, also spray it with a clear acrylic coat too. if mod podge gets wet, then it gets cloudy and it can also get ruined. I spray all of my projects like that. the downside is that you have to leave the sprayed item outside for at least a day because the fumes are BAD!

How cute is that? Kayson would LOVE something like that...he'd carry it around with pride. You are awesome for starting on Christmas gifts.
