too quiet around here.. let's check in...

How is everyone. I want this board to rock again. I miss everyone and I miss all the layouts and craftiness.

Let's share and get everyone chatting again. How about, tell us 5 things about your current life, craftiness, family.. whatever.. just talk. Blum 3 I'll start but I'll have my feelings hurt if I end up talking to myself LOL

1. Jamie has been in speech therapy for about 6 months and the therapist is suggesting we start him in 4k in August instead of waiting until he is 5. I am sad. I didn't really want him to go to 4k, but I don't want him to stay behind in his language skills. I just am not ready to have him gone for the day.

2. I bought a Kindle in February and I want one http://www.etsy.com/listing/68186540/kindle-3-sleeve-3rd-generation-e-reader?ref=sr_gallery_21&ga_search_query=kindle3&ga_page=9&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_facet=handmade for it but I can't sew for anything, so I am talking my dh into making it for me. hahahahah

3. We are having another baby. ( that may be cheating since I already posted that :p)

4. I think I have decided that when all of my kids start school I am going to go as well. I want to become a lactation consultant. I am still thinking it over though.

5. I am obsessed with yo crunch cheesecake yogurt. It is 100 calories and so so good.

Your turn Smile

1. I feel like I'm way behind on everything I want to get done before birth day: nursery, catch up on scrapping, organizing.... I did get my 2010 scrapbook done though (and printed!). I am woring on Nov of 2007, so just that and Dec 07 to go before that year is about ready. Then I have the last 3 months of 2006 to do.

2. DH is falling apart physically. It is getting kind of stressful since he is our main income and he has a physical job. His back hurts but more importantly something is going on with his leg, it is getting complicated. VA has refered him to a new department and still waiting on that, but it is getting worse. The frustrating part is that we were just looking into disability insurance when all of this happened so we could be up a creek....

3. I'm excited for my baby shower. I love showers in general anyway and being the center of attention doesn't hurt my feelings either Wink Wish it was sooner, not until the end of May.

4. All taxes are done and filed for the year. I file ours, my grandma's and my best friend's each year so it is nice when it is all done. The tax refund was nice too, although it mostly goes to property taxes Lol

5. My nieces turn 2 next week. I wish they lived coser, but I did get them presents this week. I decided on a bunch of no-mess art stuff. My favorite is Water Wow tablets (wonderful!), plus I got a bunch of color wonder stuff including the paints. I originally planed to sew them dresses (even bought the material months ago) but I just don't have the energy/time lately.

Oh, and a bonus random fact is that my computer keypad is driving me nuts. My "k" key keeps sticking and I think my "L" might be sticking now as well.

1. Jack has been off his feeding tube since the end of January, so we will find out at the end of this month if he can have it removed completely! And that will be the end of the ailments he was born with.

2. We are having some severe sleep issues over here. Jack's best nights are when he sleeps continuously for two hours at a time...ick. Any suggestions?

3. I got my teaching license a couple months ago, so now I am trying to fill out applications. We are hoping I get a job in MO so that we can move back home.

4. I really want to learn some new scrapping techniques. And I want to do one of the pocket albums that look like more traditional photo albums, only scrapped. And I want to learn how to use scrapping to make my house look good instead of like goodwill threw up on my walls.

5. I bought a jogging stroller so I can't wait til it warms up enough to take Jack out. I have lost about 21 lbs in the last 6 months and I want to keep it going!

1. I am in throws of panic as I am trying to put together some birthday parties for the boys. I seriously thought about just not doing anything because I've been in a funk for a couple of months but in the end, I just couldn't not throw them the parties I always have. It's still really hard for me to deal with because friends and family are so far away. I've got a monsters theme going this weekend for Alex (2) and TJ's is at the beginning of May and, of course, is going with Toy Story.

2. I have seriously considered paring down my scrapping supplies. I am setting myself on a mission that if I don't use it in the next few months, it needs to be packed up for a little while. I am finding myself overwhelmed with all the "plans" I have and never having both the time and energy to do it.

3. I am currently obsessed with the DIY-crafty-mom-home blogs. I really enjoy changing things up in the house. I just changed the bedroom linens in our master using older curtains and sheets and clearance comforter. I was amazed at how happy the change made me. We went from a maroon/gold damask to ice blue and ivory. It's inspiring me to declutter the other rooms in the house and rearrange my favorite pieces. It's silly but it's keeping me busy since MN is still cold.

4. I lost 17 lbs toward the end of last year. I've hit my funk in January and after the past couple of weeks on steroids, I think I've gained 5 lb. back. Not happy with that idea so I think I will get back on the right track and start being healthier again. I find FB is definitely keeping me accountable. LOL

5. I have given myself a December 2011 deadline to decide once and for all if we are gonna have a 3rd child. I hope to be in a better place by then and I think the choice will be clearer. At least I really hope so. I would like peace with this decision.

1. I LOST 8lbs in 3 weeks!!!!! I joined sparkpeople.com. It is like a weight watchers but free. I kept losing and gaining the same 3 lbs so I thought I would join. Who knew if I just ate right and worked out a bit that I could really do it!!! The first 4 days I was starving and not losing anything and then all of a sudden I felt full and started losng the weight.
LOL- DH JUST CAME IN HERE AND WAS LIKE TAKE IT EASY ON THAT KEYBOARD IT DID NOT DO ANYTHING TO YOU. I AM JUST SO EXCITED ABOUT LOSING WEIGHT THAT I GUESS I WAS TYPING REALLY LOUD AND FAST LOL.

2. We signed Tyson up with Duke rufus mma. For anyone who watches UFC, Duke Rufus is Anthony pettis trainer. It was a hard choice since he has epilepsy but I want him to do what any other kid can do. This is the first activity I have ever put him in so he is excited.

3. I am making a type case drawer full of photography... pics to come

4. Jazz started modeling again. We took a break when Cain was born but Kohl's just called for headshots of her for the back to school ads so I hope she gets it.

5.I am Happy! I know that sounds funny. I have always been an upbeat happy person but I am just really happy and loving life. I think it has a lot to do with not having money issues anymore. And dh and I have been going out more often. I know money does not buy happiness but it sure brings down the stress level. Miss U all

1) We are expecting again! I'm trying to remain cautiously optimistic...but it's hard after a miscarriage. I'm due December 7th. So far I'm feeling good - morning sickness has always hit me in the 6th week though so I'm sure it's not too far behind! Biggrin

2) Miles is talking like crazy! He is so fun right now. It's finally starting to get nice here so hopefully we can start to get outside more.

3) I haven't been working too much. Haven't been doing much of anything actually, except sitting on my butt taking it easy. Biggrin I have a good excuse, right? I only work 1.5 days a week, not even a full 8 hour shift, so it's been easy to not work that.

4) I have been scrapbooking a little bit. Maybe I can get caught up on Miles' album before the baby comes? Yeah, right...!

5) We have a lot of changes to make soon. Like, moving Miles out of his crib would be a good start. LOL! New room for Miles, potty training. I think we'll wait just a bit yet.

So good to hear from everybody really!!

1. The last few years have brought radical changes for our family, all due to finally giving our lives completely over to God. The changes I have seen have been nothing short of God's miraculous hand, I kid you not. It's so awesome!!!

2. We are following God's call on our heart to help orphans and are going to start foster care classes soon. Not exactly what we hoped He'd have for us, but what we feel He wants. Scary but exciting to be walking with God in this way.

3. Trying to scrap when I can, but really don't have a lot of time for it. Sad but life.

4. Been helping a friend out babysitting her daughter during the week. Her and her husband are separated and he moved out of town. So now I watch their five year old daughter for them during the week all day. She has blessed me in so many ways.

5. Enjoying every minute homeschooling my children and watching them grow. Life is awesome!!

Wow. So happy to see some updates!!!
Angie & Ash- THRILLED for you both! Smile
Tia, Christine, & Nancy- YAY for the weight loss! I soo need to get my butt in gear.
Carrie- I sooooo understand the calling for fostering. It is something we know we will do, but we need to get financial stable. Bless you for doing God's work!
Stephanie- Baby showers are so much fun! I hope you enjoy yours!

1. Randall felt God calling him to the ministry for about the past year. He finally surrendered. We have NO CLUE where it will take us, but if God opens a door, we will come running through willing to serve!

2. Randy is almost PT'd!!! WOOHOO! He doesn't do as well for others as he does us, but I think he's getting it pretty good!

3. My baby girl starts Kindergarten in Aug...registration is Thursday. Sad

4. I am FINALLY on FB! Would love to add some of you!!!

5. SB'ing is on the backburner. I still love to do it, but I think my blog has kind of replaced it. I am getting ready to make some posters for my Sunday school classroom, but other than that- I really only "scrap" for gifts and decorating the house. I do miss it, but I just don't have that much time anymore.....

Hi ladies! It so great to read about everyone.

1. We have officially been waiting for 5 1/2 weeks. I hope the call comes soon.

2. I finally realized that I really need to lose weight not just to help a "team" out but for me. I've done great so far. Being sick with Strep helped kick start it since I couldn't drink coke. LOL. I've lost 7lbs so far.

3. I'm taking my last 2 classes for the semester. Then I get 8wks off. During that 8 weeks I'll be working on that wedding album I talked about last year, going on a cruise, and going to conference.

4. My jewelry business is really doing well. I'm so happy and ready to get it really moving.

5. I turn 30 at the beginning of June. Ack!

Hey Tia! I'm a sparkperson too! I bought their book and am in the process of going through and really doing it. I'm finding that the motivation is carrying through to other parts of my life.

Sadie- Congrats on the start of potty training. I haven't started with my April guy but maybe I'll give it a shot when it gets warm. What method are you using?

Honestly- I don't know about methods. I just started him when he was waking up dry. That's about when I started with Ruthie too. I have been getting him used to the potty since he was about 18 months. 2 weeks ago this Wednesday, I kicked in and put him in undies. I am a FIRM believer in undies and not pull-ups. We do put him in pull-ups at night and during church services. Tonight was the first night for him to #2 on the potty.

Hi girls!

1. My March Madness bracket was BUSTED the first round!!!! First year ever that DH beat me and boy does that hurt my feelings. Lol

2. Work is very stressful right now. For the first time in years, I'm in a tested grade and our acheivement tests start next week. We are busy reviewing. I feel overwhelmed and yet at the same time I know I've worked so hard and pushed them all year so I think they will do well. I'm confident in my teaching and really I just want them to make themselves proud.

3. I've only scrapped a little but have been sewing quite a bit. I'll have to post pics later but I'm on the net book right now so I can't.

4. Only 8 weeks til summer break and I'm stinking excited about it!

5. We were placed with a baby girl on March 5th. Thats right girls, the pink hater is officially learning how to be a girl mom!! Its been quite easy actually. Birthmother's rights were terminated and we waited til the end of the revocation period before bring Hadleigh home. Birthfather has still not been located after several attempts of being served so now a motion is being filed to terminate his rights. Hadleigh will be 4 months next week and he has had no contact since the birthmom was 2 months along. I have peace!!!! I dont know why but I do. Maybe I just feel like this has to be or maybe I just know God won't give me more than I get through and Lord knows we know that. For now, I just breathe, pray, and kiss her fat cheeks. It's all up to Him, so there is no use in me worrying. For now we have no reason to believe she is going anywhere and would fight abadonment if anything came up. DH is the sweetest ever and I definitely see a wrapping with him I've never seen with either of the 2 boys we've lost. Daddy's girl!!!

I'll post pics soon. I have a ton on FB but just can't seem to get them both places. I have a few things I made for room, canvases, layouts, and such. I'll try to post them too. Today was a long day b/c bad storms and we dismissed about an hour late, so its bedtime!

Woah, Kelly, that is the most awesomest news I've heard in a long time! Congrats!!!! :yahoo::yahoo::yahoo::yahoo::yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:

Great job on all the weightloss girls! I'll have to check out that website you mentioned, Tia, thanks! And those that are expecting, how exciting and congrats to you as well! It's amazing pregnancies seem to come in clusters! Sadie, that's awesome about the potty training. I wish I could get mine trained as well, but while Journi was trained during the day for awhile, she changed her mind and went backwards. The twins love pretending on the potty chairs, but they never produce the goods!

1. My oldest daughter is graduating in May and I've done nothing ready for it yet. I am trying to get more layouts finished of her, but I doubt I'll be finished until her party.

2. Journi is officially signed up for preschool this fall. I was hoping this would entice her to be potty trained with this news, and she is expressing a mild interest again knowing she can't go if she's not trained. Time will tell.

3. My 16 year old got her driver's license today. Anyone living in the area, you may want to steer clear of any red or sand colored mini vans as she may be driving one of them! She was very grateful she got her braces off last week for her picture for her driver's license, but she forgot she was going to need a picture taken so she had a messy updo going on. It worked, she looked cute in a fluffy sorta way.

4. My oldest DD is being confirmed on Sunday. This took a long time for her to get to this point as she challenged the priest on many levels and didn't want to follow the pack and do it just because it was time for her to. This in itself was quite frustrating for me to understand her process, but in the end, it is such a good feeling knowing she is doing it because she wants to for her own reasons. It also helps we have the bestest priest ever!

5. The twins have challenged us like no others lately. They are speaking very well with new words constantly now, turning somersaults, and being very creative in distracting us to get into something they want that they know they can't have. They are also great at dividing in opposite directions to conquer in their own language. Journi has also been a great teacher of what not to do and what to try. Sometimes I wonder if they really enjoy their time outs because they walk themselves there at times with a smile. I don't want to imagine what they'll be like as teens.

6. My back went out in January after a day at a scrapping retreat. I was out fully out of work for two weeks and half-time for another month. I was able to finally return full-time a couple weeks ago. The frustrating thing is that I know it will most likely happen again. I was also told that my hip pain which I thought was due to my arthritis is actually caused by my back. Stephanie, you may want your DH check out a psyiatrist as mine said that most pain in the pelvic, hips, and legs are stemmed from the back when there's back issues. If this happens again, we're trying a spinal block to see how that works as injections and ablations did not work for me. Only time has healed which stinks because it's very limiting for me not being able to do anything. Course that doesn't help with weight issues either when you can't move. Ugh! But on the bright side, I can move for the most part and I can now pick up my kids without crying in pain. Instead they get my smiles, hugs, and kisses. Smile

everyone's lives are so busy!!

Congrats to all the new pregnancies and the weight loss!!

most of all Congrats Kelly on the new baby girl! girls are soo sweet! Smile

ok lets see where i can start

1) my precious baby girl will be 1 on FRIDAY! I am so sad! My very last baby is down to her last 3 days of actually being a baby. toddlerhood got here way before i was ready!

2) my BFF's baby boy's (5 months old) body went completely limp a few weeks ago, and they rushed him to the hospital. turns out he has transverse myelitis.we all have 2 little "nodes" in our spinal column, where your head and neck meet..his are backwards from the norm. meaning his are in the outside and ours are on the inside of the spinal cord (i think thats the right way) anyway, he couldnt move his legs at all after he went limp, and he finally started moving his legs!! he was kicking his mom the other day at my house! ( i recorded it!) the doctors say that if he isnt completely back to normal 3 months after the incident, then he wont ever be competely normal, but hes making some killer progress over the last few days!! i know he will make a full recovery!

3) my son has hit the terrible 3s and he still has 2 months before he turns 3. is this a phase? tell me it is. he literally screams and cries every SINGLE time we go in a store. and its loud. tell me this will pass!!

4) we moved into a house on base last week, and kylee sleeps so peacefully (and all night!) in her brand new room. I love getting sleep at night!

5) Ryan runs away-literally. we made sure to get a huge yard, we got the house with the biggest yard in base housing, and he ran away like the 3rd day in this house. I dont know why he does this. unfortunately we have a sliding back door and he knows how to open it and sneak out. we have tried installing the child safety lock on it, but we cant screw it into the door because the door frame isnt solid. ugh. i dont know where hes running to, but i have a panic attack every time the house gets silent. It only takes him a second to get out that door and he just runs and runs without even looking back. I dont know how we have been getting so lucky and actually finding him or someone stopping him and walking him back up to the house. someone tell me this is a phase too!

Hi girls! Finally getting around to checking in! Wow! Lots of fun things going on with you all!! Congrats on the pregnancies and weight losses!! YAHOO!!

1. DH and I are really struggling in our marriage right now. We are going through counseling and trying to figure things out.

2. I have lost 36 1/2 pounds since Aug 2010. I am only 14lbs away from my goal! I am so happy and can't wait to hit my goal weight!

3. DD is amazing and she is growing like a weed! She is learning so much and I can't believe that she is going to be 4 in July!

4. Trying to work on home improvement stuff as well as organizing and purging. Its going to be a long haul, but it will be GREAT when its all done.

okay, finally here with both hands so I can type Lol

1. Little man Aaron is growing like a weed... weighed in at 12 lbs 7 oz at his 2 month check up Tuesday (he was 6 lbs 12 oz at birth). He is super cute (not that he wasn't before), but now he is smiling and cooing and chuckling.

2. Sadly, the stinker won't take a bottle, as in can't figure it out. His tongue is all over the place and two or three times we have gotten him to take some from the BreastFlow bottle, but anything with a normal nipple and his tongue doesn't know what to do, the nipple ends up under his tongue... and I have to go back to work in less than 3 weeks... and DH doesn't have enough patience to try for long with the bottle...ugh

3. we are submitting paperwork for mortgage preapproval to see if we can afford to move before we decide to put our house on the market.

4. the only crafty stuff I have done lately is for SIL's baby shower and my best friend's bridal shower. Hopefully I can do something for my family/my scrapbook for a change.

5. I am currently doing weight watchers (though I cheated on the days of the showers the last few weeks...and I cheated Monday thanks to a VERY cranky baby making for a very stressed mommy ) I wouldn't care about dropping the baby weight so fast if I didn't have to fit into a bridesmaid dress at the end of may

I'm going to go back and catch up on everyone Smile But for now, here's my 5 things

1) I held my breath for 2 weeks, I was 14 days late and was going to do a test the morning I woke up to AF. I hate getting my hopes up like that!

2) Our basement is mostly finished!!! It's taken since January since we were doing it ourselves (with the help of my dad), we just have to put the electrical outlets in, doors, and baseboards/trim. I'm so excited to have the space to use, and it's going up for sale ASAP - after the doors and lights go in I'm thinking.

3) Kaitlyn is growing like a weed! Her vocabulary (which we were worried about 6 months ago) surprises us every day! She is pee-potty trained, but having a hard time with the poop. She'll get it, but it's frustrating for me! lol

4) Scrappy news - I have a few new CT's. I think I'm on 11 now. Or is it 12? That takes up a lot of my time. My newest one is ScrapMatters (site) - and I added 3 template designers too recently. I'm guesting for Wild Dandelions at the Sweet Shoppe too this month Smile

5) I'm all recovered from my surgery, been told to go ahead and start TTC. My scar gets really itchy, and I still have 29 dots on each side of it from the staples, plus 6 long horizontal scars across the vertical scar from where the stitches were. It's been almost 3 months, I hope they go away, I don't mind 1 scar, but it's a little much lol.

I'm a sucky board host, so sorry. Just been so busy!

1. I finished my room divider project, and will share the tutorial as soon as I have time to write it. But here's a lame photo of the finished project for a sneak peak (I have better photos now but they're not uploaded yet)

2. DH was out of the country for almost 6 weeks, and I don't feel recovered yet. He's been back for just over a week now. I really miss being crafty, and I have several projects lined up to do. But I have to catch up on some photography stuff first. I never seem to catch up.

3. Not getting anywhere with potty training Jack. He needs to be day trained by Aug 1 for preschool, and he wants nothing to do with it. He has poop issues (won't go into it for TMI sake - let's just say he refuses to go period) and that's compounded everything. Not even Cars related bribery is working.

4. DH gave me the thumbs up to buy the Expression the other week, AC Moore had a GREAT deal on it. But when I went to get it, it was sold out. I'm so bummed. Keeping my eyes peeled for another great deal somewhere. Cricut is released a new version of the Expression next month (that's what the manager of AC Moore told me, I haven't googled to verify) so there seems to be a shortage of them at AC Moore. I haven't seen the price of $199 at any other retailer locally (and AC Moore's bundle came with FOUR cartridges and markers).

5. Like Sadie, I also have a kindergartener starting in August (first time we've started in August since I've lived here!). Registration is on Tuesday. Time really flies, doesn't it?!

Well, I have to go shower. I stayed up too late last night (this morning) and so I didn't get up in time to shower before taking Natalie to preschool. So now I have to bust a move and get all clean fast as I have things to do before a friend comes over for lunch. Will try to come back for replies, as I'm reading lots of great news from everyone!

This IS a phase... my oldest was the worst offender. I literally had to put a child leash on him when taking him out to hang laundry as he made it a game for me to run after him, thinking it was funny. He eventually figured out that he will be in serious trouble each time he attempted it. But I'd be checking with management at base to see if something can be done to get that safety lock installed as I'm guessing you're not the first who have issues of a runner at the house and won't be the last. Otherwise, are you able to put a bar between the other end of the sliding glass door and the end of the window frame like how they have available for sliding windows? That way you won't have to worry in the middle of the night either unless you have something in place to ensure he doesn't leave his room without you hearing him?

Jess - Huge hugs your way! Awesome weight loss and being close to your goal! I hope you're able to resolve everything with your relationship with your DH. If you need a shoulder or ear, I'm sure everyone here would be very supportive.

If you need a shoulder or ear, I'm sure everyone here would be very supportive.

we have a hall door that has a child safety knob on it and we put our trash can up against our patio door and he cant push it open..even i cant push it open! lol but we are trying to figure out a few to put a chain through the handle of the sliding door and some how attach it to the wall, so it is easy for us to get out the door without using the bar. hes a smart cookie the first time he sees us put a bar on the back of the door, he will learn to take it off. i love that hes a quick learner, and then i hate it because my DH doesnt think before he does something in front of Ryan, because ryan will instantly remember it. and i know he would put the bar on the back door while ryan is standing there and ryan will go figure out a way to take it off. ugh..why do houses still have sliding back doors?? lol we have been lucky lately and he hasnt messed with the door at all. i hope he leaves it alone all together. wishful thinking!
