Tooth fairy

OKay major problem here.
The other day Jazz lost her tooth. Well it came out in two pieces. So she puts it under her pillow (yes, she still believes. Or she is a great actress for the money) well I forget!!!! So she wakes up with no money and no tooth. Thank god the tooth was not there. So I tell her maybe she lost it last night and that is why the tooth fairy did not come. I tell her to write a note to the tooth fairy and say what happened and stick that under her pillow. She did and I forgot AGAIN!!!!! I am on these new meds for my neck and they knock me out. She wakes up and sais mom, the tooth fairy is not real. So, I think fast and say maybe she did come the first night and Damien took the money. He wakes up before her and crawls around and she slept on the floor in the living room that night. So I run upstairs to get dh's wallet but the smallest bill is a 10! We always give the kids 5.00 for a tooth. I was so excited about the first lost tooth that I did 5.00 and then my kids just thought that is always what the tooth fairy brings! So I go in the living room and hide the 10 under Damien's chair and tell her to look. She found it and I said the tooth fairy must have thought you had lost 2 teeth since it was broke in two. Just cause I am not doing 10.00 again for a tooth!!! Then dh said '' you gave her a 10 for a tooth! Well what was I supposed to do give her nothing?? So now my problem, I still can't find this tooth! What do I do if she finds it? I mean she is old enough so i could tell her but how sad. WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

awww. lol. Sorry it's a little funny Wink ...I feel for you though....Is she off school yet? If she has to go to school I would spend a good chunk of time looking for it.
I'm not sure what excuse you could use if she finds it herself....though...I suppose if she is already doubting a TAD you could use it as a chance to tell her the truth now she's getting older if you want to go that route... but make it a mother daughter special talk over ice cream out or something.

I still remember when my nephews found out at 7 and 8 and my sister had to threaten their lives every 5 seconds when they would keep pretending they were going to spill the beans to their little sister. lol

I was 13 when my step mom told me Santa wasn't real. She told me as we were getting into the car (over the top of the car) after girl scouts. I was so bummed and now wish I had that moment with my mom to tell me. When you tell her make it something special between you two.

My dad has still not told us santa was not real, lol. Sure we learned from school but he says if you don't believe you don't get presents. I never had the it is not real talk and I think I like it that way. I just figured she would learn from school. I told Anthony the same thing, I said if Santa is not real then you would not get presents right. He has not asked me since but says thanks mom at christmas and I give him a smile:) I mean I am sick of santa getting all that credit, lol!!!!

Oh and school is done but I might send her outside to play and search! Too funny about the little sister thing!

My parents did the same thing. I knew that stuff wasn't real around Jazz's age maybe and my parents knew that I knew but since all my siblings were younger I played along. Just because you know its not reality doesn't mean it can't be a fun tradition. If she flat out asks you though I would tell her but that is just my opinion.

LOL, I'm sorry Tia, I can't help but laughing. You are such an amazing mother going through all that for her, so she wouldn't be disappointed. I'm sure you did everything/anything she'd have needed to make up for the Tooth Fairy forgetting. LOL Hope you find the tooth soon!

I'm cracking up!

we did $5 for the first tooth, but every tooth after is only $1. I had to explain to Andrew that the first tooth is the special tooth, but the tooth fairy isn't made out of money. Lol He has three loose teeth right now, I wish he'd lose them already! But I totally forgot to leave the money for Jordan's last tooth. It was Valentine's Day, so I told her the Tooth Fairy must have had a hot date.

Sure hope you find her tooth!
