When I am in photoshop and click on adjustement layer -> black and white...it makes my image more of a sepia tone...what's going on?
here is the original image:
here it is in photoshop with just the black and white adjustement layer with nothing else... how do i make it truely black and white? i didn't do anything further then hit ok
Here is is saved. Why is it looking so different between when it's in photoshop, compared to viewing the saved copy? ETA: when i open this b/w pic in photoshop it goes back to the previous coloring
That's odd! I've never used that screen to do B&W though (I only have CS2 though). Are you viewing it in RGB?
I do it like this:
Image --> Adjustments --> Desaturate
This is what I get from that:
To make it a bit better, go to the half white half black circle on your layers pallette and pick Levels
Brings up something that looks like a mountain. Drag the arrows on both sides and middle til you get the effect you like. If you drag the right one too far, it'll cause a lot of white to appear in your clouds, etc.
Then a Gradient Map for B&W: Same half white/black circle:
Click the one that's half black & half white (it'll go to your foreground/background colors at first)
This was my finished product:
Does that help?
