Ugh! - Updated with finished LO - post #10

Okay, first of all, I started a LO for the alpha challenge when DD went to bed last night. It was taking FOREVER, like seriously hours, and I just wasn't loving it. I was having a really hard time finishing it; I just didn't like anything I tried. I finally got really tired and went to bed at 12:30, leaving my stuff out on the table because none of the letters or anything were glued down. So this morning I was in the shower and I got a brainstorm - need to change the background color behind the section where the pictures are. I found the PERFECT piece of purple cardstock, a really pretty color which totally made me fall in love with this LO. I need a whole sheet and a tiny (maybe 3 or 4 inch) strip of a second piece, so I go to get another piece and of course there is none. Waaaahhh!!!! I always buy two pieces (unless I'm getting a bunch in a pack) but I must have used the other one for something else before. I have some other purples and I tried them, but now that I have seen it with THE purple, I just don't like the other ones. Might have to take a trip to AC Moore or Michael's to see what I can find...can you say obsess much? LOL

That's too funny! I never used to be really obsessive, I figured hey a page done is a page done, but with these challenges I find myself a bit more particular. I'm also saving every scrap I could every use.

I understand that feeling completely. It's hard to settle when you've finally found the BEST. Hope you find your paper at the store. Smile

Ugh. I would be frustrated too! I think a trip to the store (maybe both) would be the perfect cure for your frustration! Smile

But the wonders of digital is there is never a shortage of paper! Wink

Whenever I don't have enough paper I will cut it out behind the photos and use it. Nobody will see anyways once the pics go over the missing paper. Or I will put three pics across a 12x12 and add a long strip of the paper I don't have much of on top and bottom of the pics. It then looks like the paper is behind all the photos. Just use a white piece to back it. If this won't work for you then I hope you find your paper Smile

Lol I'm so sorry! How very frustrating. Since I do digital, I always have plenty IF I can find it. Sometimes I remember a particular piece that I want but have absolutely no idea where it went.

I can so see that happening to me! Sometimes it takes me a while to find a certain picture I'm looking for on the computer!

I can TOTALLY relate. I bought way too many kits during NSD but I found myself shopping today (at full prices) because I didn't have the perfect papers to go with some elements I wanted to use. ha Oh well, can't wait to see your page!

Okay, I am totally embarrased to admit how long this LO took! It kind of makes me sick to think about it, LOL! I do like how it turned out, though. I was able to make the one piece of dark purple work without having to buy a second piece; I moved the picture of the smash cake off of the solid purple, and that little paper pieced cupcake was much bigger so I made it tinier so that I could squeeze it in there without it taking up a lot of room. Problem solved! Smile I wish I would have done the big journaling block with a black pen, but when I wrote it out last night there was none of the dark purple or black involved yet so I thought the light purple would fit better. You can see it better in person, so it's not that big of a deal, but I do think the black might have tied it all in together a little better.

ETA: Forgot to add that the chipboard is courtesy of Trina. Thanks, Trina!!! Biggrin

Oh I totally love it! I think it turned out beautifully!
It reminds me that I still need to scrap Conner's first b-day pics.

No problem! I knew you knew. Smile I can totally understand the Kelly thing, anyway, and it's not the first time it's happened...that is my bonehead fault for not thinking it through before I had Missy change my user name. LOL! I guess Kelly will just have to be my "adopted" name! Smile At least it's a pretty name! Heck, maybe I'll just change my name to Kelly IRL! Lol

Yes, I did! Not one of my smarter moves, hahaha! Like I didn't have enough to do getting ready for the party, I had to bake and decorate a billion cupcakes! ROFL They were yummy, though!
