Things are going good here. We got back from our vacation to Branson on Sunday. We were supposed to stay until Monday, but since I had to get a job, I had to work on Monday. Ruthie started daycare on Monday as well. It went very well. She cried just a little bit later on in the day. She took a good nap and she ate well. Those were the things I was afraid of. She's not real good with change. Today was a bit harder. She cried more today, but it's b/c she knows what's going on. She likes it there b/c she gives everyone hugs when she leaves, but she wants me. Today when I picked her up, M (the lady who takes care of her) told me she wanted this piece of paper I wrote some numbers on. She knew it was paper from me, even though she didn't see me give it to M. She knows it's out of my church notes. She does that sometimes. If it's mine, she wants to hold onto it. Whether it be sweats, paper, or a shirt. Breaks my heart, but I know she's safe and happy there. My job is going okay. It's not the greatest, but it's money and that's what counts.
Branson was tons of fun! Ruthie had a ball. We arrived Friday evening. Ruthie rode the go-karts with Randall for the first time. She didn't look too sure about them, but once she saw me driving beside her, she was all smiles! It was so fun! Later that night we saw some gorgeous fireworks from the side of the road. Ruthie liked those better b/c they weren't as loud. Saturday, we headed to Silver Dollar City. We got there and it started POURING down rain. Oh my goodness it sucked. We had to buy ponchos for all three of us. It was horrible, but I wanted to stick around b/c it was supposed to stop. A lot of people were leaving, so that also made me want to stay b/c if it did stop, there would be less people there. We headed in to watch Veggie Tales which was so cute. Ruthie loved it! When the show was over, the rides were open! She was just tall enough to ride the bigger rides, which she loved! When we asked her what she wanted to do in Branson, she said "ride in my stroller and ride the frogs." I showed her a photo of the frogs she was going to ride, so she was super excited....another reason I wasn't going to leave b/c of the rain. She rode a couple of small roller coasters and some other rides. She was an angel for the 3rd year in a row! We also met up with my best friend from high school there (her DH works with Randall) and she has a daughter 8 days older than Ruthie. They had a ball playing together. Sunday we just laid around and got packed up. It was really nice coming home.
Here are a few photos from the weekend.
Chilling out in the stroller while it was raining!
First ride on the frogs!
Riding the ladybugs!
Sorry this isn't the clearest shot. Randall's not a good photographer!
Splash Harbor! My camera died right after this pic. She was drenched by the time we left!
Thanks for looking!
Great pics hun. You three are so cute together! Sorry your job isn't terrific but like you said, it's money. Ruthie sounds like she is doing well at the daycare. Sounds like she knows how to find ways to feel your presence without having a meltdown and I think that's adorable!
Can I ask what your job is? Congrats on getting one! Yes, money is money. That's so sweet how Ruthie will hold onto something of yours'.
I can see LOTS of scrapbooking memories with those pics! She looked like she had a BLAST! What fun! I love the ladybug ride pic the best. Sooo cute!

I'm glad that daycare's not too rough on her. How many other kids are there? I didn't realize you had to get a job (I've been out of the loop, I guess). Hope that you start to enjoy it more. The vacation sounds like a lot of fun (minus the rain). And I love the pictures, especially the one of Ruthie in the stroller during the rain. She sure loves the rides! Natalie's the same way.

She is going to a local daycare. I am not sure of the amount of preschoolers they have, but there are only 6 toddlers (I am sure they are all 2 years to almost 3 years) in her room. Her teacher is the same teacher I had at Ruthie's age. So, at least I know she's safe and being well taken care of.
Great pictures! Ruthie is so cute.
That is so sweet she wants to hold something of yours. Can you send something with her each day like a picture of you together? She will be adjusted soon and will love going to daycare!
Aww, it breaks my heart to hear of her wanting to hold the paper that she knew was from you. How sweet and tough all at the same time. It sounds like she is doing relatively well though and I'm glad the transition was not harder. I'm so sorry about your need to get a job. It was a surprise to hear you got one, but you have been hinting that you needed the money for a while and with the economy getting worse I'm sure you are not the only one making changes.
Anyway, your vacation pics look so fun. Ruthie is getting so big. I love the pictures of her in the rides. The one of her crawling through the tunnel is adorable.
