VC #12- half time

In honor of football season we'll have our own half time. If it normally takes an hour for a page you have 1/2 an hour. This is totally on the honor system. It's just to get us to step back and not second guess every piece of the layout.

No other rules or limitations.

I have a prize for a digi and paper scrapper:)

I'm two hours into my current layout ... I would have been done over an hour ago if it wasn't for SCAL troubles! Wink So the next layout really needs to qualify for this challenge if I'm to get another one done.

35 minutes for this one, which I consider awesome with Allie awake and Jamie under foot. LOL. The one right before this one was 1 hour 30 minutes, just I was within the half time limit lol It's so simple that it is sad that it took me 35 minutes!

I did mine in about 35-40 minutes (had to take a break for dinner). I'm like Angie, this is so simple that it's sad it took me so long. Most of my time was spent looking for the right papers. Wink

I stopped and started, but this one came together much quicker than usual. Probably about 35-40 minutes (compared to an hour and a half or more) The blocking and fewer elements definitely helped. Smile

this one took about 1-1/2 hrs. usually it takes me 3+ hours. yes, im one of those 'stare at the page for 15 minutes' kind of people ROFL the only reason it took me that long is because im having to glue everything down with a glue stick! my xyron ran out of paper this past thursday .

Angie, that is DARLING!!!

Gwen, that is another great two pager! The bears are so cute. His hair looks so light in these pics too. Wow!

Beth that is GREAT!! She will so love hearing what she was like when she's older. WTG!!

Ashley, I can't imagine gluing with a stick! You've got patience girl. Smile What a fun LO too!

Beckie, that's adorable! You took some GREAT bubble pics.

Shelly, that's adorable. What fun colors!

LOL! I thought it was Jack at first glance, too! I think I was looking more at the page elements than the actual pictures! (And date!) Lol

These are all great! I tried to do a "halftime" layout last night and failed miserably! LOL. I got sidetracked and ended up taking probably longer than usual. Oops!! I'm going to try again later today, though. Love this idea!

And I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that usually takes 2+ hours on a single LO! Biggrin

Okay, after my third attempt at a quick layout, I finally managed to follow through! Lol It took me 45 minutes on the dot, which I would say is about perfect! I am sure most layouts take me at least an hour and a half, and many take well over 2 hours. The funny thing is that I was disappointed that it took the full 45 minutes. I felt like I was moving really fast, and if I had to guess I would have thought it was less than a half hour. Oh, well...I guess I am just not a fast scrapper! Here is the layout; scraplifted from Trina (and everyone else ).

Gosh these are all great LO's so far, good job ladies! I'm still trying to do mine:( I'm getting side tracked as well. I only have 1 1/2 hours before I have to pick Karl up from daycare so I'm going to try and do some LO's. I'll be back later for individual comments:)

Here is mine, it is very simple but had to be done quickly. A layout for me takes around 20 to 30 minutes. This layout took me only 8 minutes.

Here's mine... got it done in the nick of time as I only allowed myself this time while all THREE kids are napping... one just woke up! This one's a digi which usually takes me up to three hours from start to finish. This took about an hour. YaY me!

katie - I love that blue Christmas LO. Gotta add some more of yours to my scraplift folder Smile

so I didn't end up doing this challenge...I have no idea how long LOs usually take me. It depends on the LO and if I sketched it ahead of time, or changed my mind partway through, etc. So I wouldn't even know what my "half time" is Lol Anyway, great job on these ladies Smile

Okay, I just want to say great job to everyone:) The pages are fantastic. I find that sometimes I make my best pages when I go simple and don't have time to nitpick every decision. Hope you gals had fun!

Trina, that is such a cute layout. I love the writing on the outside!

Stephanie, the colors are great. What type of album is that for? Are you just putting random memories or is it chronological. Good idea of labeling volume number.

Angie, I love the way you pieced the background papers.

Gwen, nice LO's. I love the little bears. I totally thought that was Jack.

Beth, I love that picture, she's so beautiful! That story is too cute. I'll have to jot down Karl's conversations at night when he's supposed to be sleeping and scraplift your idea.

Ashley, that is such a cute LO. I love the way you created the football field:)

Beckie, great colors. X is so cute with the bubbles.

Shelly, I love the colors of the animal print paper, they match so well with her outfit:)

Katie, that is such a great scraplift. I love how you used the staples.

Missy, I love the simplicity of the page. It really focuses on the event.

Tracey, that is a super LO. I love the colors, especially the bow!
