I liked the curves in #35 so I tried to duplicate the lines. Here was my effort, not sure I like it.

Stephanie, I like that page! Colors are perfect. Not sure if there's much "story" but you could add a small journaling box next to the picture.

First of all, I want to say thank you so much for posting this challenge! The picture I chose (I think it's pretty obvious which one I picked ;)) really got me excited about scrapping these pictures. I really wanted to include them in DS's book, because this was his first time bowling and he LOVED it (he has done little else since, lol, we play imaginary bowling, bowling with his Silly 6 Pins game, human bowling, bowling on the computer, etc. constantly!). But the pictures were pretty blah, and I had no idea what to do with them. I think this worked perfectly! I love how it came out!!!

This was my first VC challenge (or any challenge on this board, actually!). I had such a good time doing it! Smile

ETA: The lighting was bad so I had to use the flash...the green letters show up better in person.

Katie, that is perfect! I just thought that building was perfect for a LO, and you did it great justice. Have a great time with the VC and I hope you join more challenges.

ok, here's mine for the Building/Landscape Inspiration challenge. That is my favorite kind of inspiration of all. I find more ideas from nature and architecture than even online galleries or magazines. I took quite a few photos and combined them into this:
"Be yourself, there is no one better qualified"

Photo #40 had the gingham and I thought I'd love to give that a try in a boyish layout, instead of just for babies. (my normal thoughts on gingham)

Photo #47 started this whole idea for me. The grey sky gradually turning to peach colors made me print my photos in b&w, almost sepia and color.

Photo #15 had that beautiful yellow. I almost never scrap using yellow, so knew I wanted to try that too.

So thank you for all the inspo ladies! I know I'll be referring back to these gorgeous pics many times.

He was just being silly trying on his Daddy's. Wink Scott only wears them to read....though he really should be wearing them all the time.

I'm such a dork! I read this challenge earlier and thought that it meant to use one of the pics and I was thinking, "why would I want to scrap a building I've never seen?" I'm glad I reread it! This is a great challenge. I really had to think out of the box!

I used #11 as my inspiration. I liked the vertical lines. Here's my LO:

I just love this pic:

Not that I'm entering, but here's mine.

#15 for color, I love the Yellow and white
#12 for the cross design between the pictures
God this computer and photobucket suck. I'll try again in the morning.
Here it is, it's the first page of a two page LO:

#1, 16 and 17 are my inspirations as they got me thinking of our engagement (in the city of Madison, where those pictures are from). Since today is our engagement anniversary...

The circle is the back of one of the Union Terrace chairs.

This is going to take a few pictures to explain...

I tried to match up the stickers with what emotions were going on at each place.

First Picture is Memorial Union (where the chairs are located).
Second picture is Bascom Hill, which is the hill just west of the Union.

3rd picture is of the back side of Elizabeth Waters- the dorm I lived in and where my hubby proposed to me. I circled my window and wrote "HERE!" in red, but it's hard to see.

All doors open

Journalling close-ups

Hubby says this is the best card he's ever received from me, so that's fun. Smile

and you say you don't scrapbook!! That's like a mini-album of your engagement story! Wow, that's way beyond a "card"! I love it! I'm sure it meant so much to your DH.

I've made exactly one scrapbook in my life. I gave it to my brother and SIL. It celebrated them and totally ripped off the song "One boy, one girl". I'll have to try to get pictures. It took me MONTHS to do. I'm too much a perfectionist when it comes to stuff like that. LOL

YES! Find pics! You know you can't just post something like that and not show us the pics. Wink LOL

Well, they live 400 miles from me. But I'm visiting them as soon as their overdue baby makes an appearance. Smile I made the scrapbook before I got a digital camera.

I ruined my SIL's senior picture for her. In scrapping it, I pointed out that there was a beer can in the shot (under water). Oops. That's what I get for looking at the picture too closely and then blabbing about it.

Kevin (dh) made that. He really misses stain glass since he can't take it on the road.

I love your card. Not sure if you were planning that or not, but glad the union chairs could inspire you:)
