VC Challenge #2 - make flowers (paper only)

This challenge is for the paper scrappers (sorry digi girls! - but you COULD make a card for the challenge, has to be paper).

Found this craft while reading my Parents magazine today. So my challenge is for you to use the instructions to create flowers and then use them on a layout. If you only have a boy, I'd love to see you get creative with this kind of flower on a boy page. You can make the flowers any size and out of any paper, doesn't have to be magazine like in the craft below.

http://www.parents.com/holiday/mothers-day/crafts/flower-craft-for-mommy/

You have until midnight on Monday to finish this challenge. Winner will be randomly selected with a number generator. Smile Prize yet to be determined.

Aww, I'm excited for this one! I have to run some errands but after that I'm sitting my butt right down to do some LOs. I'm excited since this is the first VC I have been able to participate in.

Oh and BTW when I logged on today I was kind of in shock that it is Thursday already, where do the days go? I honestly though you ladies had decided to start early or something.

I'm so excited!!! I've been on pg.org forever and just found this board!!! Here is a card I made that has an origami lotus flower:

Whole Card

Close up of flower

The flower is made from tissue paper that was brushed with ink to match the base cardstock color. I tried making the flower with other papers, but they are just too thick... tissue paper is what worked for me.

And I found this board just in time for the virtual crop!!! woo hoo! I'm hoping to get some scrapping and card making done this weekend!

I've only been scrapbooking / card making for a little over a year (but have been doing various crafts since I was young). I'm addicted to scrapbooking! I just need to find more time to do it Smile

Here's mine! (Please ignore the camera flash! I won't be around tomorrow, so I figured I'd go ahead and post it tonight)

Thanks for the challenge, Gwen! I have had these pics sitting there waiting to be scrapped for probably three or four months, and this gave me some motivation! Smile

Katie, I love it too!!! And I'm adding it to my scraplift folder. Heck, I think most of my layouts this VC need to be lifts. Wink

Gwen, that is AWESOME!!!!!!!!! I love how you have the pictures laid out! You got so many on there and yet it doesn't look cluttered at all. So cool to have her little locks in there in a pocket, and of course the flowers make it super cute! I love it!!!

Here is mine, I even made it for a boy themed LO. It is very plain IMO but I am running low on mojo at the moment. I loved the flowers though and pla to use them sometime again!

Great LO's everyone. I have a cute (boy) idea, but I'm not going to get it done (or started....), so hopefully I can share soon!
