VC Challenge #3 Vellum

Carrie inspired me for this one. Wink She sent me some lovely vellum a couple weeks ago and it's been so fun creating with it!

I asked Stephanie and she said you digital girls can do vellum too, so YAY! This will be good for paper and digital scrapbookers!

I want to see a layout (2 entries for prize), altered project (3 entries for prize) or card (1 entry for prize) using vellum. Post your work here by Monday at midnight to be entered into a drawing for a fun prize! (more on that to come...)

Here is an example of one of the recent projects. I borrowed my friend's wedding cartridge for my Cricut. It has this cut:

I thought these adorable boxes would make great valentines.

here is the top

opening

inside

I filled them with Hershey kisses and decorated the outsides

This one was cut using the "blackout" feature so it didn't have the scroll work.

And a fun card using vellum

I made a bazillion of those heart top boxes (minus the side cuts) for my MIL's second wedding. Then she called off the wedding and eloped, so I have a bazillion of them in my house. I'd use them for other things except that the heart has an A and an N on them (for Arlyn and Nancy). I might put some in the scrap train... they'd be easy to alter, I'm just so burned out on it, and I did these Feb 2007!

Stephanie and Beckie, those are both awesome! Some of my faves from both of you. I love that you both used eyelets to "adhere" the vellum journaling tags! That actually gave me a great idea to do that next time on a paper layout!

This is a card. The "huggable" part is the vellum

These are some great vellum LO's ladies!

It's hard to read the words with the way the photo was taken. The title is "Waiting" and the words read:

...to hold you.
...to cuddle you.
...to kiss you.
...to protect you.
...to teach you.
...to play with you.
...to tickle you.
...but not waiting to love you.

My Sweet Kaylee,
I loved you
The moment I knew
You existed

Love,
Mama

Here's my entry:
I used the vellum for my title and journaling. I also used it as matting. It looks so much better in person. It adds some softness to the double matting, where 2 matte's of solid color would make it more bold (KWIM?)

Here is my page for this challange... the alphabet is vellum (it's a two pager, but the vellum is only on the first page).

These pages are from my pregnancy journal I kept online while I was preg with Kayley. I have all the rest of it scrapped and printed in 12x12 size. I only have my birth story to complete, which I will do through the scraplift challange, and then it will be done!!!

This came together really quickly for me.

The torn paper under the pictures is a light purple, swirly vellum.
Oh and the tag says 'I do' but it is silver and has a nasty glare:rolleyes:

Here is my vellum LO...the title "Like father, Like son" is vellum from one of those vellum quote stacks...
Not so sure I like the two paper strips on the side...I may go back and change/eliminate those another day, but here we go:

ETA: journaling says - even with all the toys you had, you still wanted to play with grown up things - the remote control, cell phones, and even Daddy's Play Station controller. We laughed because you looked just like Daddy with the PS3 controller in hand. -9/29/08"

Katie, I love the title and the design of that LO. I agree that the eyelets with the ribbon tied to hold the pic is such a neat idea!

Lauren, I really like the paper strips...keep em! Wink The blue and yellow go good together.

Kelly, you are so creative! I love this 2-pager! The way you tore the vellum and put it on the bottoms and tops of the photos and your use of the tiny buttons is awesome. I'm loving your wedding album!!!!
