VC Challenge #5B - BUSY BUSY BUSY

Busy pages are my fave! In this challenge you are going to make your page super busy. Smile

In this challenge you must use

10 different patterned papers
3 different ribbons
3 "other" embellishments
3 pictures
at least 1 bling, something shiny!

You can of course use more but no less!

Each LO will get you one entry for the prize!

Have fun Smile

I'm going to combine this with my scraplift challenge (since I'm the host of the other one and not putting my name in for the prize, that's ok, right?) Smile Double-duty layout ... already got it started ... it takes awhile to get that much on a page and make it look nice! lol

I wanted to do this as a single page, but the pictures don't blend with the next set of pictures in our collection so I had to stretch it out, hope it is okay.

It amazes me how we can take a challenge and turn it into so many different things! Nice LO's. Here's mine:

My "bling" is the apples & also the bird's eyes:

I wanted to include something about the challenge so I would remember later why I chose those things in one LO:

Journaling says: A bird would fly onto the terrace so I started feeding it & soon we made a friend! The little tag: This page was made for a scrapbook challenge. The challenge was to use: blah, blah, blah

TFL!

I love the pages so far! Mine is on the kitchen table drying Smile It takes a lot of glue for bling Wink

Carrie, I'm glad you had to go outside the box! When I do that, I usually end up with my best work.

Stephanie, I really like your LO! I'm glad it was doable for paper and digi alike Smile

Kelly, I LOVE your apples on the tree! I'll have to use that idea for something sometime!

Ok, this one was really, really hard for me (this totally goes against my simple type of LO's. Though I somehow still kept it clean....LOL I really struggled b/c I had a hard time finding 3 photos, I ended up taking one of the photos from another LO I was previously working on just so I can do this challenge. I was looking forward to doing this challenge b/c I do keep things so simple. Here's my BUSY, BUSY, BUSY LO....

3 Embellies - Brad, Button, Eyelet
Bling - My title, they sure don't look shiny in this picture, but they are.

Okay, I did a scraplift within this challenge! I had already cut my squares and was planning to put them in a row, when I saw the way catwmn (sorry, I don't remember your name!) stacked them, and I loved it!

Overall, I really like the way it turned out. You can see the glue through my ribbon, which stinks. What is the best way to put ribbon on, BTW?

wow, this is one awesome challenge!

Carrie, amazing page! my new fave! The way you layered your photos with the white matte is perfect.

Stephanie, everything about this made me smile! I love the colors adn the pics of Andrea are adorable.

Kelly, wow! Your apple tree went into my lift folder. That is sooooo cute! Love the birds too. Some stamps at Michael's I got today remind me so much of this page. I've got to post a pic now.

Megan, your arrow, your ribbon, the way you did you title....all fantastic!!!!!!!

Aja, I'm so impressed how you could take this busy challenge and create a page that is soooo Signature Aja. Clean! I really love it!

Katie, your layout rocks. The design is just great!

It may be impossible, but I'm thinking of trying it with a card tomorrow.... granted a larger card, but still... this challenge just SCREAMS my mother and she's been joking with me because I didn't put pictures in her Christmas card (because I had already put larger versions on her wall). This would be a great "payback".

I know. But we've got a good relationship like that that payback is never the real nasty kind.

Go for it, Michelle! I was surprised at how much empty space I ended up with. I think you can do it!

I could easily do it with strips or squares, but I want to change it up a little. It'll give me something to dream about tonight. Smile

Ok, so this layout has taken me TWO whole days (it normally takes me an hour or so!), but it fits the scraplift challenge, the white challenge and this challenge all at once! LOL. I took the 10 papers and 3 photos and 3 embellies as a 'minimum', since this is a 'busy' challenge, I thought the busier the better! It's missing one thing that I can't get til February - a picture of Kaitlyn at 12 months old lol.

Aja, I love the squares of different patterened paper in the corners. I might have to lift that design sometime too!

Trina, I mentioned it in the other thread, but I love that 12 month LO you did. Very cute!

Here is mine. I actually used 4 pictures, 4 pieces of ribbon, 10 diiferent pattern papers, the bling, and 7 extra embellishments (5 buttons and the two rub ons)

The journalling says " Patterns and colors are everywhere on papers, fabrics, ribbons and occassionally little girls!"

Missy great work! I guess I'm just so impressed with how you girls are managing to make these not look overdone. I've attempted it a few times and just can't seem to like the results.

This was tough. I had an idea but it was just too busy (I ended up using it for the mini challenge). Then I felt like I needed to do something different then what I'd seen others do. I really like how this turned out. The die cuts, stickers and little wood things are my "other" embellishments.

Alright, here's the final. I REALLY like how it turned out. Thinking of using my mom's high tech scanner and scanning it, then printing a 5x7 for my brother and one for me. Thinking of reprinting the pictures on picture paper and adding the date, then framing it for mom and dad. But it's done. I like my hubby's touches.

(I'm going to replace the button with baby's picture when baby decides to arrive. Baby Button was due today but seems to like where s/he is.)

It surprised Trina when I posted this at our birth board- but that is actually sized 5x7. Just thought I'd mention it.

Shannon- they take a real patient moment- and hence why I only doing them once in a VERY blue moon.

I loved this challenge because I usually keep things pretty simple - I don't think I ever would have used 10 different patterned paper otherwise, but now I'm inspired to try this again.
