I'm back ... staring at the pictures for my dragging feet/5+ photo layout. I can't afford to stay up too late tonight. I want to type replies to everyone, but will have to do that tomorrow.

Kelly, ((HUGS)) I hope that you can scrap the photo of Isaiah.

Mish, wow, what a rough day! And that SUCKS about AF. I hope that everything settles down for you guys, and fast. Really hope Josiah is better FAST!

Yay! Got my first page done for Charys's mother challenge. I will take a pic and post in the morning cause I do not want to overdo it again Smile Just happy to have scrapped again!

So I'm plugging away at this layout, totally inspired and happy with where it's going ... but all of my pictures are too big. Sad I have to go back to Photoshop and put two on a 4x6 for all of them so they're smaller. Then I'll have to get to Costco and pick them up. Ugh. I really hope to get this layout done by the end of the VC! Off to leave my crop corner so I can edit on my real computer. I have to do this now though ... *sigh*

well ladies.. i'm hitting the hay... i got 2 weeks worth of Project 365 done today so i'm happy about that. I was hoping i'd get more time to scrap tomorrow but my husband is obsessed with Craigslist and has found us a sectional couch for our new place for a good price and so we'll be picking that up tomorrow (an hour away!)... I'll prob be at our new house for a bit (doing the little bit that I can do with 2 kids running around an empty house!). I'm hoping to come home for lunch so i can put the kids down for a nap- which should leave me with some scrapping time! We shall see!

I should really plant the vegetable seeds I bought.... question.. i've never done a garden before, but i'm going to start the seeds out in those little containers until they get bigger and I can plant them in the ground... do I only put one seed in each little container or can/should I put more in there in case there is a dud??

Gwen - that's great that Andrew got accepted! (I've been doing the gifted testing at my schools and I'm glad that i just finished giving those IQ tests and writing up those reports this past week!)

Goodnight ladies!!

Hello Finally!! I'm so sad I missed today! Sad I've read through this thread...wish I could've chatted too. After having a very sick kid all week and going to work my house was in dire need of TLC. So were the boys! I went grocery shopping, swept, did my huge mountain of laundry and cleaned. I haven't even sat at the computer once until now! It's 10pm and I'm way too exhausted to even think about getting my scrap stuff out. Sad Can't wait to see the other threads though.

I just got around to scrapping tonight. I thought I was going to last night but I was scheduled to work a double. This morning I noticed a snafu with the bank so instead of just going to make a deposit I had to sit down with a rep. Then I had to do homework and we also had our 2nd new dishwasher installed...which we think this one leaks too so crossing my fingers next load=no puddles. I sorted through the scrap train...I know I said I'd have it out last week but it was a busy week. So I sorted through it and decided what to put in and it will be in the mail on Monday. So then it was girls night and I went to see Letter's to Juliet and McAlisters. As soon as I saw Tia's challenge I knew exactly what to scrap and I couldn't find the pics so I searched high and low and started to cry. DH continued to play his game while I told him I couldn't find them. But then I did and all was okay Smile

Tomorrow I have more homework to do and then work my last shift before surgery. However, Monday is wide open except for my therapy appt and my trip to the post office so I hope to get lots done that day.

Okay, I've been working on photos for a while ... no layouts for me tonight. I gotta get to bed. But tomorrow will be a busy day, and I really hope to get to Costco to pick up the photos I just ordered so that I can finish that layout. Wink I also wanted to take the kids on a bike ride. And the fire house is doing their open house. So it's quite possible that my day will get crazy fast!!!!! Scrapbooking might not happen until the kids are in bed. That being said, I wanted to type some replies to y'all before I crawl into my warm bed.

Carrie - I hope you have a really nice vacation!

Sadie - how was your time out shopping? I hope you got some great things for your trip. I can't believe it's a month away already!

Lisa - contractions?! That's so wild, of course we just only found out you were pregnant and you've known all along so it doesn't seem so wild to you I'm sure. Wink KUP!

Linda - did you get the house you had wanted or did you get a different house? Exciting times! I haven't done any of our meal planning for the week yet, so I can't help you. I love buying a whole chicken and doing a simple roast. I haven't done that in the crockpot, but I'm sure it's just as easy. Love your palm tree planting idea, can't wait to see pictures of that. You'll have to get pictures of the kids with "their" trees every year. I usually plant 1-2 seeds in small containers (like Yo Baby containers) and then transplant them when they're a couple of inches tall.

Candace - what's going on with Ella? I don't have things well organized at all with my digi files. I just have it organized by kits. I spend a LOT of time hunting for what I need when I do a digital page.

Ashley - I somehow missed your fruity Cheerios story from yesterday - funny! I mean, it could have been worse, it could have been Rice Krispies. Those aren't fun to clean up at all!

Nancy - I used the Coredinations paper on my Saturday challenge layout, but I didn't do anything to make the core show. I suck at using that paper the right way. Hope you find the right house to buy. Wink

Tia - that's so cool about the bowl and the elephant and the bears. Can't wait to see the photo you take with your bears. Wink

Charys - I hate that Cohen is sick. So hard on him, on everyone. ((HUGS)) I hope you get some downtime tomorrow, you really need it!

Kebrina - sounds like some insanity in your house. Wink Sure hope the dishwasher didn't leak again after you posted. And I really hope the surgery works for you - how long afterwards do you have to wait to TTC? I forgot to tell you, but I had a dream the other night, and you were in it.

Night night, see y'all tomorrow!

Charys, I am missing your work during this VC! It is always such an inspiration to me. Yours too, Carrie...and your nice comments always make me feel good about my work even when I don't feel that confident in it.

LOVE what everyone else is posting though! That Emotion Challenge really is emotional. Or maybe I'm just hormonal. Wink

Where has Karen been lately?
Gwen, hope you get your pictures! Sounds like you have a busy day ahead.
You too, Linda - :goodluck: with your new house endeavors though...how fun!

Kelly, I'm glad you are getting to participate some this challenge. How are your hands/wrists feeling these days?

I can't wait to see what those who haven't had a chance to scrap yet come up with!

DH took dd1 with him to early church today, but I'm staying in with dd2 - we're eating an early lunch with the ILs here to celebrate my MIL's bday, so I have to get up and finish cooking and cleaning. Hopefully I will have at least 3-4 hours to scrap this afternoon before we go visit with my family tonight.

I have two new nephews in the past two weeks, so that is really exciting...I get to see both of them today! I'd love to get some pictures of them with my girls, but Cadence will have nothing to do with the babies.

I definitely have my pictures ready for the Mother's Day Challenge, and actually hope to complete all of them that have been listed so far. I'm having a hard time with the Something Old/Something New one though! Still thinking on that one.

Oh yeah, Mish...sorry about your little guy losing weight.

Gwen, thanks for asking what is wrong with Ella...we really don't know. She has dropped from the 95% to the 5% over the last two months, in spite of eating well. We have been to numerous doctors over the past few weeks to no avail. We have an appointment tomorrow at UNC Children's Hospital. I'll try to KUP on what we find out. All we know is that she likely has something called FPIES (to rice that we know of), but unless I'm passing other harmful protiens through my breastmilk, she still should not be losing weight. Cadence was always off the charts, or close to it, so this whole Failure to Thrive thing is new to me and I'm really worried about my baby!

Good morning gals. We will see how much I get done today. I have been waiting for the weekend to get some pics of the kids when they are not at school with the new seamless paper I bought a week ago. I also was thinking about setting out some more stuff for the rummage today since I made 40 bucks in an hour yesterday. Not sure right now if money is worth my free time. I also woke up again with my neck so bad. I just wish I was never in that accident. There are just so many things that if I do them I am junk the next day. Sorry to sound like a baby. I guess I should thank god that the car accident did not leave me in a wheelchair and that Jasmin was not hurt. I just get down when I have to stop scrapping cause of my neck. I used to scrap for hours at a time that dh would ask me if I remember him lol. I do want to finish my journaling on my first page and upload it. We will see.

Kebrina- I am so glad you found the pics and even happier that you scrapped them. Smile

Morning girls! Not sure how much I will get to scrap today. It's pouring down raining and we were planning on a cookout at my MIL for DH's grandma so I'm not sure what plan B will be. I know its selfish but I'm hoping to stay home to scrap today and maybe take a nap! Greg's granny had dementia and everytime I'm around her she ask where Isaiah is today over and over and over. For some reason she remembers him here but not that he's gone. I know she can't help it but she about put me under on Mother's day after about the 20th of asking about him. So I could pass that whole thing up today and fair just fine.

OK, there is my rant.... now back to my happy place!! Smile

Tia- I'm sorry to hear that your neck bothers you so much. That stinks!

Charys- missing you dear, hope Cohen is feeling better

Missing Karen and Carrie too!

Mish- I love your time share challenge card! Hope your little man is doing alright.

Linda- I saw a pic on facebook of your sun room I think. Can't wait to see the rest.

I don't remember who asked about my hands but the one I had surgery on is good although my grip is still weak. My left one is bothering me b/c I've used it alot while the right one was healing. I'm planning to have it done in June after or vacation.

Gwen- your post exhaust me!! I don't know how you do it. I see you posting good night on FB all the time and wonder how you are going to get up the next day and be with your kids all day. How many hours do you sleep in a week? I bet I DOUBLE it! Smile Hope you get your pics today so you can figure out your layout.

Good Morning Ladies! I don't think I'll be scrapping today Sad DH just went to get breakfast (dunkin donuts). But tomorrow, I'm excited to do some scrapping.

Gwen ~ I asked that question during my pre-op and I have to wait 1 full AF cycle before we can TTC. While they have me under they are also going to do a D&C which will allow them to see inside to make sure I don't have any fibroids or polyps that could be causing the excessive bleeding. So it will throw my cycle off track Sad So i think when AF starts in June I'll be able to start TTC which is around the time DH has his next SA so it just might be our perfect timing. I'll be off work for a week to recover and hopefully some days I'll feel good enough to scrap.

Kelly ~ glad your right hand is doing better. Sorry about grandma not remembering that must be tough. And it's raining! Don't ya'll need a break from rain.

Tia ~ don't over do it I'd scrap instead of rummage Smile But that's just me LOL.

i wish I could join you all! Smile so many great layouts! i haven't scrapped anything in ages!!! I really need to though... ARgh!!! I wish I had more time but my spring cleaning is taking longer than expected. Hopefully by the end of this week I'll have most of it done and the little stuff left.

So many great layouts. Smile hopefully by this fall I will have more time to sit and scrap. I'm going to have to make time to scrap! I want to scrap this summers vacation for sure! Paris and London. woo! Smile I miss scrapbooking!

Bwhahahahaha. Today in church, I found out from the rumor mill that I'm pregnant. I have a 4 month old with health problems, and I'm having AF, but I'm pregnant. Good one! Silly people.

(Let it be known that we are quite happy and content with our family of 6 and have NO plans to expand any further, barring a miracle.)

I have card ideas for at least 2 more cards. I'm going to try to make them during the kid's nap/rest time. Yay!

it's so hard on me missing this crop!!! ARGH. I just wanna cry. Sad I thought C was doing better, but he's running fever and having breathing issues again today. Sad I can't sit down and scrap with a sick baby. I'm just holding him and rocking him to keep him calm. I have all these ideas running through my head too. lol. This morning while the three boys were asleep in bed I was running layout ideas through my mind for almost 2 hours. Cohen was asleep upright on my chest (so he could breathe easier) or I'd have gotten in my scrap room and been productive.

Mish, don't ya love rumors?! That's how it is here in a small town! Oh guess what I had someone ask me on Friday? When I was due and if I knew it was a boy or girl!!!! Sad I told them by boy is 3 months old. It was a man and I could tell he was embarrassed. I felt awful though. Geez!

I want to catch up with everyone, but don't have time to reply. Gotta fix Kayson lunch. Then I'm bound and determined to atleast get ONE page done. I LOOOVE the challenges we have going.....everyone of them is calling my name. Wink

thank you all for the sweet well wishes for Cohen! It means a lot!

So, Lyric has gone to bed so i finally have time to catch up with this thread properly. Smile

Today i did the emotion challnge and just looking at the other layouts had me all teary! I have really, really enjoyed doing this VC and i'm really glad Gwen let me know that it was happening.

Tonight i hope to do one more, but i can't decide which one... I'm going to see what photos i have. That should help me decide!

Charys, OMG! How mortifying that someone asked you if you were pregnant! I'll bet he was embarrassed and so he should have been!! Poor Cohen, i hope he's better soon. I love your siggy pic, you all look cute.

Michelle, i'm sorry i just had to chuckle at your local rumour mill. Silly, silly people! Looking forward to seeing your cards.

Loida, You will have a great time in London & Paris i am sure and there will be so much for you to scrap following that trip. There will be another VC later in the year i am sure. It's definitely helped with my mojo for sure! (can i say sure a few more times...?)

Kebrina, Sorry you didn't get to scrap today, but hopefully tomorrow will be fruitful! Best of luck with the TTC in June.

Kelly, I hope you managed to stay home and scrap & nap. Your DH's gran asking about Isiah all the time sounds painful, bless her. Glad to hear your hand is healing well.

Tia, 40 bucks isn't bad going for an hour. You're right though, you have to weigh up how much your free time means to you as well. Hope that whatever you did was productive in some way!

Candace, you're right, th emotion challenge is a really emotional one! I've seen Karen about on Facebook so hopefully she will pop in. We usually miss each other when posting on here. Sorry to hear about Ella, that's worrying for you ay? I hope you find the cause soon and she is okay.

Gwen, sounds like you had a busy day planned for today so i hope you managed to get through everything you wanted to do!

Gosh! You ladies are full of fun, emotions, and news!

Lisa (MadisonsMom) -- are your contractions progressing at all?? ELV sent your way!

Mish -- :bigarmhug: I understand hon! And LOL at the rumor mill!

Sarah -- so good to see you around! We have missed you!

Kelly -- I love seeing you scrap and be crafty! Don't overdo it with your hands, though.

Gwen -- congrats on some productive scrap days! And congrats to Andrew too!

I know I missed lots more than that, but I wanted to reply at least a little. Smile

I've been playing around with GIMP and kind of teaching myself how to scrap in it. My new laptop (got it about two weeks ago!) doesn't have my other program on it since it's not Windows 7 compatible. But there's not many tutorials out there that are up to date with the updated versions of GIMP. I think I've figured out the basics now and can actually scrap with it! Woohoo! It's so much more powerful than my other program. I'm going to see if I can get at least one full LO done before the end of the crop.

YAY, had some time to scrap. Cohen was feeling so much better, so I sat and made 2 layouts. Yahoo
Granted, we are eating cereal for dinner, because I decided not to cook and just enjoy some scrapbooking time. Thank goodness for an understanding spouse. Wink LOL! Now off to check on the threads....

Kids are in bed, I'm ready to scrap. Day was long and exhausting. No bike ride, no errands. Was at the open house for almost 4 hours!!! In the sun, no less. It was cloudy and breezy when we left to go, and it got hot and sunny. No sunscreen for any of us, but no one looked red when we got home. Took a bunch of pictures, but my battery needed to be charged so they're still on the camera.

Will have to do replies later, MUST SCRAP! Tempted to watch tv, because it's been that kind of day where I need to rest my brain, but I'd rather scrap. Wink

ETA - I'm surprised no one started a challenge today. I would but I can't think of anything right now. Maybe tomorrow. Wink

Gonna try to do a little more tonight before I crash. I always feel so much pressure cooking for ILs - glad that is over with.

I'm delirious. Left my corner for a snack and to move stuff from the washer to the dryer. And I just need to go to bed. Sucks because I'm in the middle of two layouts. But it's better if I just do them tomorrow instead of trying to work on them when I'm THIS tired. Sad

I am so sorry I haven't got to join ya'll! I really wanted to and was looking forward to it, but we have been busy...we had a small block party yesterday, and with the sewing projects I have to get done this week, I don't even have the space to get out my scrapping stuff!

Just came back from Target/Costco errands in the rain. But I have my photos for the 5+/dragging layout and I WILL get it done today, no matter what!

I have to go pick up Nat from school in 25 minutes, thinking about trying to wrap up one of last night's layouts in the little bit of time I have.

Stephanie - sorry your grandma isn't doing well. Sad

Lol it was supposed to be my mothers day gift! lol

Ashley - I LOVE SCAL!! Just used it on an awesome layout I can't wait to post. Totally worth the money. And I totally understand about your doctor. I really miss seeing my midwives, I love them.

I'm back to scrapbooking ... but the bus comes in 50 minutes. Ugh. Natalie won't leave me alone, I just want peace!! I love my kids but they sure get in the way of scrapbooking.

So I finished a layout for Gwen's Spring challenge. Smile

Had to go to a meeting with my "boss" this morning. It was kind of like being sent to the principals office. Wink Not a bad meeting, but I had no clue what it was about before hand. Talk about butterflies in the stomach!

I've taken some time for myself today to just relax. The house is a disaster around me, so I might have to tackle that a little bit tonight instead of scrapping.

I am so delayed... I saw the VC challenges and had tunnel vision. Anyhoo, Gwen, with the SCAL is that how you were planning to do word art? I love the idea of wall word art, but can't find the fonts I want in cricut. If I understand SCAL, it prints the fonts that you have on the pc, right? Are you able to integrate that with the gypsy or the Design Studio or do they are they all incompatible with each other? Congrats on Andrew being accepted, big accomplishment!

Candace, have they measured how much Elle is drinking? I really hope they figure out what is causing her weight loss quickly. I can't imagine what you must be going through!

As for me, it's been a crazy busy weekend. The weather was beautiful, so we tried to get our gardening done as much as possible. It's a brand new garden since we've moved, so had to design and break ground. We're trying the square foot gardening, hearing the weeding is much less and can condense much more into it by 2/3 of what a normal garden is. I guess we'll see. We got only some of it done - the herbs and asparagus bed and the strips tilled. Now hopefully we'll get the fence put up for the vine plants and plant the seeds. That shouldn't take too long. Did a ton of weeding and cleaning up of the flower beds as well. Lots of work! But on the more fun side, my ds came home from college on friday and on our way back from picking up his things, I came across a garage sale a few houses down that was selling their huge Little Tykes play area that has two slides. Perfect addition for the kids! We also had a picnic and bonfire outside for dinner last night. It was so relaxing (especially when the kids went to sleep)! The down side now is that I think two of them are getting sick... fevers tonight. No good! BUT, I did get a ton of scrapping done, especially at night!

it's been a long tiring day ... I really wanted to do the 5+ layout, but it's not looking good. I should get to bed before 11 for once. came here to start it over 35 minutes ago, and got sidetracked on Facebook with 20 year reunion planning. (doesn't feel like 20 years since I graduated high school!)

Congrats on Andrew being accepted, big accomplishment!

yes, you can use any font. plus you can design your own cuts (or ask Angie's husband to ). there a TON of cut files online. possibilities are ENDLESS! so yes, I do plan on using SCAL for my word art (which I haven't done yet). oh, and you can shadow too, which is how I did the Tough Guyz today.

There is not enough hours in a workday! :/ It's almost 9pm and I've GOT to hem some work pants tonight. I started on a layout for the Emotional challenge, but I'm sure I won't get it finished tonight. I'll post it ASAP though. I sure wish I could've been more active this crop but I had so much fun! You girls rock!! Love you all to pieces! Glad we had a few new faces join in too! I do hope you stick around. We gotchya now. Wink hehe!!

Nighty night friends!! I'm going to check the other threads before I bring my sewing machine out. (can you tell I'm procrastinating this....Gwen or Stephanie, can you send some sewing mojo my way tonight??)

That's awesome! So I guess I should put that on my priority list over the gypsy or Design Studio cuz good fonts are so hard to find! Do you know if you're able to have the letters merge like you can make it with the Design Studio?

Candace ~ I forgot to mention that I have a ton of different categories I go by if I download specific things, not kits. With kits, I go by the creator's name and then pull out my favorite artists into a separate folder so they're easier to find, if that makes sense. For blog trains with multiple artists, I save them by the kit name. I don't upload anything into the program I use until I actually need it. I have the folder open in another tab ready to go and then just slide the element into the program as I need it. Very quick process.

yes, you can weld. I've used Design Studio (you can use the trial version with the cart your Cricut came with, in my case George) and I really like SCAL better. More options for sure!

So your recommendation is to forgo Design Studio altogether? Is SCAL like an upgrade to Design Studio? I didn't see any trial for DS with my carts... I got two in my bundle package on black friday a couple years ago - Plantin Schoolbook and Accent Essentials.

I was wondering the same thing as I seem to work best under pressure! I hope it's soon! Just don't make it the last weekend of July as my three youngests' bday party may be then since they all have birthdays within a week of each other! Well, maybe the first weekend of August. Not sure since there's a wedding involved now, too. I can't miss a VC!!!! You guys have got me hoooooooooooooooooooooked! Thank you so much for the challenges and bringing back my mojo. You guys inspire me so much! I absolutely love seeing all the beautiful, creative layouts you share. I'm so touched to see a part of your lives! Thank you!

I am so sad that I couldn't do any scrapping today. Sad

Spent the day at the hospital with Ella. Tracy, I have no idea how much milk Ella is getting from me. I think my supply is pretty good, I "feel" full and I leak occasionally, but I have never been able to pump very well. I pumped tonight for 20 minutes and BARELY covered the bottom of the bottle. So frustrating.

Anyway, have to go back to the hospital in the morning for an abdominal scan. I'll update more later. TOo exhausted tonight. I might try to finish the progressive scrap before midnight.

Will have to read back fully and check out everybody's work tomorrow sometime.

One trick I learned with my kids as I nursed as well was to offer a supplement to see if they would take it after they nursed. That's how I learned I was not able to provide enough myself. I was pumping at the max 3 oz per feeding when I know I made more and was convinced they drank more. Pumping always produces less than actual nursing. I've even taken meds to try to increase my supply but that didn't work. I had to resolve to knowing supplementing was my only option. I'm not sure if you've tried this, but if you haven't, it wouldn't hurt. I nursed great for my first three kids and nursed horribly with my last three kids. My body would just not cooperate. I had a really hard time coping with this with Journi, but with two kids it was MUCH easier knowing I wasn't capable and it truly became less stressful when feeding both of them. I really hope that whatever Elle has is a quick and easy fix. My heart feels for you. You're both in my prayers. Please keep me posted!

Thanks, Tracy. I've been trying to supplement with formula but she won't drink it. Sad
We know she has FPIES to rice, but suspect she may have it to dairy as well (which would explain why she won't drink it).

They gave me some Neocate and Elecare samples today. I will start trying to give some to Ella tomorrow!

Here's a link with basic info about FPIES for anyone who is interested. We think it is just one piece of the puzzle with Ella:

And the progressive scrap is a no go for me tonight. Sad
