Good morning!! How is everyone this morning? I slept in until 7:30am. After breakfast and coffee, I hope to get to scrapbooking.

I am up and really, really want to scrap but my niece is coming to spend the day with me (she is the one that was born last Sept weiging only 1 lb 9 oz). Also my dad just called and my 90 year old grandfather is being taken to the hospital as we speak. So as much as I want to be around I just don't know how much it will be. Sorry.

Ah, that's ok Shelly! How is your neice doing now? I remember her! And I hope your grandfather is ok. Don't worry about us, you just take care of your family.

How fun! I probably won't get to scrap until tonight... I am trying to get my bedroom painted. It is so much harder to get these house projects done with a toddler running around!

Shelly I'm sorry about your grandfather! :bigarmhug:

I woke up with a cheery song in my head and ready to scrap! However, I am so new and seriously lacking in materials. Last night I bought a bit of background paper forgetting I'd need solids for edges, backing, etc. I am going to go to a cheap place and get some stuff after breakfast (it's 7:50am here) and then I will be back and showing off some layouts. :boogie: Happy Scrapbooking Day ladies!

Good morning. I'm really hurting today. Sometimes I sleep wrong and my neck gets all out of wack and I get headaches. Today is one of those days. I'm hoping it fades soon.

Kristen, be sure to post a pic of the finished bedroom! I bet it will be cute. Glad you checked in anyways. Biggrin

Hi Karen! Can't wait to see your work. I always forget basic colors too. Last week I bought a pack of neutrals at Target for pretty cheap.

I just completed this LO. It's certainly not my favorite, but maybe it'll grow on me later. After completing it and standing back, I think it's too busy. I ran out of the letter "s", so I just used a chipboard swirl for the S. Smile

I finished my first page and posted it in the challenge thread. I'm happy to have a page done today. I have an idea for another page but I have to go find the element that I want....

My neck is feeling better, just needed some time to relax. Yeah!

Everyone here is playing Mario Cart on Wii. I'd love to play, but I love scrapping right now too.

[LEFT]Here are my two. I know both of these are not the best pictures. It's a dark gloomy day and i have no natural light to get a better pic. The second one has journaling about how his Aunt Dodi bought him the outfit 7 years before he was even born and so we waited a long time for a baby to get to wear it. Ive got to change the I in wait because it looks like it says a really really really long waRt. lol.

Both are great Angie! The shapes you used on the first layout are so neat and I love the Really Long Wait LO! So cute his auntie bought an outfit for him before he was even born.

Hey, I just thought we could extend this crop through Sunday! What do you all think? This Saturday is so busy for a lot of our regulars, etc. so I think I may extend the deadline on all the challenges for Sunday at midnight. Sound good? The ABC's game will end tonight along with the Spring challenge.

my first pages

so here are my first attempts at scrapping! I must say, this could become a dangerously obsessive hobby for me! Dh was laughing his head off when he was leaving for work cuz I was scrubbing my hands diligently and he goes "you're doing crafts, not going in to perform open heart surgery!" haha! Lol Anyhoo, the only acid free pens I found for cheap don't write properly (they leave big blobs!) so unfortunately I can't journal at all on them yet. I will personalize them more once I have more stuff to work with. These are some of my nieces and nephews anyway (since I don't have my own kiddies just yet and I come from a big family) and now I'm working on a page from when I was a kid and a couple honeymoon pages. This is so freakin fun! Lol

This was my first page ever...my nephew Jeremy who's almost 11 now. I wanna finish it after I get more supplies cuz everything I have is so girly. lol I'm going to journal on it how his Mom used to sleep that same way with her bum in the air when she was a baby Smile

My second page (my niece Amber) who's 10 now. The background is high heeled shoes and she's always been so into fashion like her mom so that's perfect.

My third page (my niece Cassidy who's 4). I've always loved that pic of her sliding down the slide backwards Smile

My fourth page (my nephew Tyler who's 12)...The llama one I will definitely journal near (hence the balnk space). Tyler's always been a real animal fan and he was 8 in this pic and ran straight over the llama and posed like they were long lost friends. The llama doesn't seem to mind! lol

My fifth page (my nephew Deion who's 13 now)...He's always been about photography and did a bit of modelling so I wanted to use my "film" border on him. I put the sun cuz my nickname for him as a toddler was "Sunny D" and he still lets me call him that :cloud9: For anyone interested Deion, Ty, And Amber are sibs ...oh and I have to still get pics developed of my nephew Dylan (they're all on the comp) and then I will do ones for him too. Thanks for looking! Biggrin

Karen!! I can't believe those are your first pages! Stitching? Wow, that's great! I'd been scrapping for a year, before I discovered stitching. I love the heart and miniature pic on the Cassidy page! Yes, it's very addicting. Lol

They're still really great. That's neat that you found pages with stitching on them. What a find!

I'm taking K on a walk, so I'll be gone for about 45 minutes.

yeah two for a buck! Not many choices though. Anyone know what would happen if I used a regular ball point pen for journaling instead of special acid free ones until I buy some? I mean, afterall, I have a letter from about 20 years ago written in pen and it still looks like it was written yesterday. Can it really be that bad? lol I'm just dying to journal something on this page:rolleyes:

See you later Stephanie!

Karen, I use regular ball point pens all the time. I don't want to give you that advice, then have something go wrong in the future, but I think there's nothing wrong with a regular pen.

This is a quick wedding card I just finished.

oh that is SO cute.

A couple of the pack of acid free pens seem to be working so I have used those a little (with caution of it exploding lol) but I will use a ball point pen for other parts. Some things are sorta shiny and writing with a ball point is the only thing working right now. Thanks for the advice! Don't worry though, if my scrapbook disintegrates in 200 years I won't come looking for your family. Wink

I did three more pages! omg I love scrapbooking. I'm officially hooked. I need more money to buy stuff! lol It'll be fun growing my collection over time Smile

The first page is me as a kid (until I get my own lol) and the next are from when dh taught me to swim. I had a really traumatic water experience at 4 and couldnt swim for the life of me after that. So many ppl tried to teach me all my life. Then I met dh and when we went on vacation he taught me in half an hour ! lol. I was so damn excited I called my mom in Canada from the UK. lol. The third page goes with that and is from our honeymoon (more of that trip to come later). We were swimming way out off a catamaran. Even though we had to wear life jackets I was still all over the place and swimming really far away to look at sea life. dh thought i was gonna chicken out once we were told to jump in. lol

HAHA, I love how you put the synonyms of Buoy on the layout! Too cute! And I love the colors and pics on the Lil Karen page. Yep, you are certainly "hooked".

What are you all making for dinner? I have chicken breasts and salad mix, so we'll probably have grilled chicken salad and rolls.

that sounds good! I made tuna casserole but dh doesn't eat it. I'd tell him to make himself something but seeing as he's at work and I have 3 days off and have been sat here in sweats doing scrapping all day I think I'll get him something myself. lol

Then I'm outta here to make dinner and spend some time with hubby once he gets home. i don't know if i will be able to get back on here later since i promised dh he can play on the comp after work. Either way though i'll probably be scrapping and will post pics tomorrow! Nice chatting to you!

wow so i'm finally back on to check all the stuff out....
these pages look lovely ladies

I really love your pictures from when you were little karen.... i've often thought about scrapbooking pictures from when i was little especially while my parents are still young enough to tell me tidbits and memories of theirs(dad just turned 50 and mom is younger than him). but that will have to wait until i get caught up with ds' book.... but in due time i think i'll start one

charys i love the airplane lo and your wedding card absolutely fabulous.... makes me really want a cricut (i told dh that i wanted to wait until we got the house and moved before i got one even though he offered to buy one now)

ladies sorry i haven't been on more but i am feeling so much better after some much needed rest and relaxation.... so hopefully i'll be able to do some scrapping tomorrow take pics upload em and get them done by tomorrow night

hope to chat with you all soon

I agree, GREAT los ladies! I love seeing your creativity!

Thanks Charys! I hope I can get something done tomorrow.

Stephenie- I am sure she LOVED it!

We had a town get-together today and Ruthie had a ball in the bouncy thingy. We also went to a very boring bluegrass in the park event. It was not good at all. I wanted Ruthie to relax and play outside, but it was super boring.

Aw, sorry about the boring bluegrass thing.

We wonder why we even go to our town's annual event. Every time we go it's always the same, yet every year, we always go. Smile Must be Small Town Syndrome. ha

Thanks for looking! Can't wait to see some of yours! Biggrin
