Wed./Thurs. Tip of the Day (how to make a clover from hearts)

I thought paper and digi girls alike could do this!

It's so simple to create a St. Patrick's Day clover from hearts.

I started with 3 hearts in patterned paper, 3 hearts in solid green paper a little bigger and a stem.

I cut all of these with George. The hearts were all cut at 1 3/4 inches. The three larger hearts were cut on Shadow feature. The "stem" is just a "j" from George! Smile I saw that and thought it'd be perfect!

Glue the smaller hearts on top of the bigger hearts

Position them on your layout or card to resemble a lucky clover!

Please note that in the above photo nothing is glued down. I didn't think I wanted to use it for a card (I never send St. Patrick's Day cards out!) and so I will probably save it for a layout. LOL

I am posting this so late (funny how life gets in the way of scrapbooking...LOL) so this will be tomorrow's tip also. WinkOk, so I'm cheating. :busted:

ok, who knows where my brain has gone.

but i just realized a lucky clover has 4 leaves!!!!

sigh.

ignore my lapse in thinking.

it happens often.

i'm going to blame it on having a baby.

even if it was two years ago.

Love it, very cute and who cares if its not 4 leaves it is still very festive for St. Patty's day. For 4 you would need narrower hearts I'm guessing but I love the balance that 3 has. Another great tip and also I plan on blaming many things on having a baby until my last one turns 18!

I did sell him off. Now I regret it. When I have the money to repair my machine, I will probably buy him back.

Smile You're welcome! I didn't come up with the idea...actually I was in Walmart and saw a girl's tee with a clover on it and it looked like three hearts, so it gave me the idea. LOL Erin, there are a lot of carts with hearts on them. The "j" just happens to be a perfect stem after I was cutting the hearts I saw that. But you could just as easily free-hand a stem.

What a cute idea! I love how you used a 'j' for the stem....I would have never thought of that!

what's funny is that when I went to get Jordan from my neighbor's house, she and the little girl there had been making clovers with green hearts. ironic, huh? yours is much nicer. Wink
