What my husband and son did yesterday.

They borrowed a topographic map and an atlas of mine. They got a board, old playdough, spray paint, brushes and paint.

Hubby made Palestine. He kept coming to me to check his work. It's about as accurate as he can get it with only using playdough and not having exact elevation markings to go off of.

The pins mark specific places (Like "Jesus was baptized here" and then Bible references are given)

Up close of the 3-D effects.

My 5 year old, wanting to be cool like Dad, needed to make one too.
He says it's Bethlehem- though obviously it's his interpretation of it- there's a volcano...LOL. So Daddy is now looking for pictures of stables, etc so he make make pins with pictures for Caleb. Good first attempt at mapping though, don't you think?

That's a pretty cool project!

kinda ot ... "confirmands" -- is DH a Lutheran pastor? Each denomination calls confirmation class something different. And I don't think you've ever mentioned what church he pastors, so that's my guess. Blush

Yeah, Zene and I were joking back and forth because my husband makes sure whenever I say he's a Lutheran Pastor, I make sure I add in the denomination. My husband is a Missouri Synod Lutheran Pastor. Wink

DH and I are full of dorkiness -- just not Lutheran. I'm one of those crazy Methodists (Free Methodist to be exact).

I homeschool with a zany Methodist and our doctor is a Methodist Pastor's Kid. So he doesn't think you're all into black magic. Wink (And I'm just going to make it ABSOLUTELY clear- that was a joke.)
