They borrowed a topographic map and an atlas of mine. They got a board, old playdough, spray paint, brushes and paint.
Hubby made Palestine. He kept coming to me to check his work. It's about as accurate as he can get it with only using playdough and not having exact elevation markings to go off of.
The pins mark specific places (Like "Jesus was baptized here" and then Bible references are given)

He says it's Bethlehem- though obviously it's his interpretation of it- there's a volcano...LOL. So Daddy is now looking for pictures of stables, etc so he make make pins with pictures for Caleb. Good first attempt at mapping though, don't you think?

kinda ot ... "confirmands" -- is DH a Lutheran pastor? Each denomination calls confirmation class something different. And I don't think you've ever mentioned what church he pastors, so that's my guess. *blush*
