What would you do?

OK, so i'm making digital pages for Eli's album(WAY easier for me and less messy.) Should I get them printed into a hardback book at www.lulu.com or should I get the printed individually and put them in an album?

pro's and cons of lulu.com

  • I'm affraid that I won't get the pages just right and that they'll look like crap. lol
  • Someone else does the work of getting the book together. Smile
  • Nice professional cover

pro's and cons of getting them printed and put into an album

  • A little more expensive as i have to print out about 100 pages, and buy an album.
  • I can pick any album I want (saw some really cute ones at Aaron Brother's)
  • I know the pages will look fine in the book.

Umm...
I don't know.

Personally, I think I'd get the pages printed individually. I would continue doing that so they all match unless it was specifically Eli's First Year or something. Sorry I'm not much help.

I'd worry the book wouldn't turn out just right either and getting them printed seperately would.

I'm biased since I've seen how LuLu comes out! Smile DH's book/magazine came out really, really well. They give you a digital proof of how your book will look. The only thing to watch for is to make sure you have an adequate gutter so your pages don't go into the binding. (I never did answer your pm! Gosh, I'm out of it lately!)

Another pro for Lulu ... you can order multiple copies! So you can give them as presents to grandma, etc. Smile

Do i just neet o make the canvas a little bigger on the pages i'm working on? I'm making them exactly 8.5x11 at 300dpi. Should I change that?

Yikes, that seems like a lot of work. Maybe I'll just get them printed and find an album I can put them in! Biggrin

It is definately cheaper to get the book printed, but it woulod definately take some work to get it set up right. Even with shutterfly, I spend quite a bit of time making sure the edges are right, etc.
