Okay. CC needed!
I like the colors and I like the general layout. But I really wanted to emphasize that this was the first time I was able to touch DD and the first time I met her (I had an emergency c/s and couldn't see her for several hours). I think I need to put it in a more prominent title??
What do you think?!
ETA: after playing around with it a bit more, a different arrangement:
I listened to my DH about his ideas. He said that the color scheme of the originals was too vampire-ish (especially with DD's eyes closed). So I tried a different color. What do you think? And does the journaling look okay? Or should I leave it off??
Journaling: Mom's First Touch
I wasn't able to meet you until several hours after you were born. And we
couldn't hold you until the next day. But this first touch meant so muvh!

I like the layout, but I think to really convey what you want to convey, you actually need to journal it on there. Your post explains it well, just put the same words on the page.

I definitely like the second one better, the wording is able to be read better where it is on there. I agree about the journaling though, you definitely need to pour out your thoughts as to what was going through your mind at that very moment!
What a sweet, sweet page. I really like the 2nd one. I think you did a great job.

I think the 2nd one does a better job of showing what you want. What if you made the title big (like the quote is now) and put the quote smaller in the bookplate?
I know what you mean about the journaling elements. Sometimes I just write right on the background. Or I will make a separate layer, and use a similar color to the background just lighter and sometimes somewhat transparent.
My favorite is the second LO. The colors and swirls are beautiful!!! Well done! I love it.
Since I don't know a thing about digital scrapbooking, I don't really know how you could put the journaling on there, but the words behind the photo that you told us should be on there somehow. Maybe you could make the little tag that reads "mom's first touch" a little bigger and put the journaling on it?

I think I agree with pp that said make the quote smaller and the tag bigger... and definitely stick some journaling on there but I only briefly have digiscrapped so sorry I'm not of more help there.
It's a beautiful layout and I love the colors.
