I'm so excited. I found out that Stampin Up had this awesome stamp set, AFTER they stopped selling it. It was only sold for a very short period of time last year.
I tried to win one on eBay, but they were going for 2 and 3 times their price then. I had to resign myself to the fact that I wasn't going to be able to afford it.
Well, I just happened to be looking for something for my mom when the site advertised holiday sales. On a chance I looked up the stamp set.... there was a slightly used one, AND I WON IT. Paid the same for it that it would have cost. (Hey, even at used, I'm happy with that.)
It's the Stampin Up Holy Family Triptych.
I'll take pictures of them when they arrive.
I'm so excited though because that will be the majority of my Christmas Cards now. (I make about 200 a year. Yes, really.)
that's great, I love that feeling when you get something on ebay that you really want.

Yay for a great deal!! I can't wait to see it. 200 cards? And I thought I made a lot.

Yup, and we give them all out... it's not selling them.
It has pretty much become that I make Christmas Cards from about Aug-Dec and then don't do much the rest of the year. I plan throughout the year and then usually go to a crop in the beginning of the year so I can get a bunch of other cards made.
125 are for our 2 congregations and 75 for our family and friends.
The congregation ones especially, I find a good design and make it about 30 times, so in the end I have about 3 or 4 designs that are about the same, though I'll change the background papers, etc to fit what I have.
Yay! How exciting!
Oh, I'm really glad you got it for the same cost because it actually just showed up in the new catalog...
Sets in the mini catalogs can show up within the next year in the big catalog. I would have kept my mouth shut if you paid more, but I thought I'd let you all know for future reference.... Don't pay double-triple on anything that was in a mini catalog until a year has gone by, unless you see it on an official retiring list!
It is a beautiful set. Can't wait to see the cards you make with it
my ticker was taking up too much space, so: Robby-Apr06, Johnathan & Matthew-Mar08... you do the math. LOL

Good to know about the mini books. I can't afford much, so I don't usually look at the site often and don't care until I miss something like a set like these.
Too tempting to look more often. It works out well for me though as I hate mounting the stamps, and I got to see pics of these- looks like new. Double checking the s
