Appt sucked!

Had my appt this morning. I am still contracting occasionally while on the meds which is fine. Cervix is still closed. BUT.... my bp was 144/74 with 1+ protein in my urine. So, I'm still on bed rest. I'm really bummed. This is the first time I have had a high bp during this pregnancy. And this was after my meds this morning that are actually given for high bp. I figured it was high this morning due to some symptoms I was having though. I have to go back Thursday just to have my bp and urine checked. Now, I'm on weekly appt. He told me he was worried that I have something starting so he wants to play it safe. He did say that I could go to my shower Wednesday at work. Just to have them take my bp while I'm there and to take it easy. So, at least I get to go.

So, I'm sitting here almost crying because I'm having to use all of my vacation time now. This takes away from how long I can stay home with Carter once he is here. A wk is already gone and I barely had enough to cover 9 wks and I wanted to take off 12. I'm just a little bummed right now. I'll be 34 wks this wk so just a little bit longer!

Sorry you're still on bed rest, I know that's not the news you were hoping to hear. I am glad you still get to go to your shower though.

I am sorry! Could you use disability? I don't know how it works in the US. In Canada, if we are put on bed rest, we go on short term disability so we don't use our mat leave...

Oh gosh. Sorry to hear about still being on bedrest. So long as your LO is healthy. Hoping everything turns out ok on Thursday.

So sorry that it's not working out the way you planned, but I'm glad you still get to go to your shower. I agree with Erin though- disability seems like a good option to check into. Hope you feel better and nothing more happens with your blood pressure!

I only have long term disability on my insurance. I will have to check on DH's insurance and see if he has short term disability on his. I'm kicking myself right now for not having it.

I feel your pain literally. I'm still at the hospital on bedrest. I'm the opposite of you now they are worried about low blood pressure on me. They put me on procardia, my bp had been running around 103/55. It was below 100 earlier. They said I'm on bedrest now till he's born. Hang in there well get thru this. They want me to just make it to 34 weeks. So 9 more days for me

Thanks ladies! I hate to get on here and whine but I just really don't have that much vacation time saved up. I was going to have just enough to take off the full 12 wks that FMLA gives me. That's what bums me out more than anything. I won't get to stay home with Carter for as long as I wanted to. So, I'm following the dr orders pretty good. He just told me to take it easy so I'm still able to get up and do stuff in moderation.

Sorry about the bad appointment Sad Maybe if you can get things calmed down you can go back to work and just do desk stuff? Not sure if that is possible for you but it's worth asking. My only bp issues so far have just been low bp but I've been worried about it going high because my last few appts it's been 120s/70s which is high for me, pregnant or not...before this pregnancy it rarely went above 110/60. So far they haven't said anything and hopefully it stays down, what kind of symptoms do you get with high bp?

Sorry to hear that chica! I only get one week of maternity leave, (since I run my own business I cant afford to take too much time off) so to get 9 to me, is way awesome. Smile I know it must suck to be on bed rest though!

Well, yesterday morning before my appt I got real lightheaded/dizzy and hot. Once I got to the couch to sit, I realized that my vision was a little blurry. Blurry vision is a symptom of pre-eclampsia. My pulse was also running about 120 at that time. I just figured it would be a little high due to nerves yesterday. Didn't think it was going to be that high.

Bummer. Definitely look into the disability, you never know!

I hope you're feeling better soon!
