Baby bedding - and Nicole/Newone4me

I've been looking at baby bedding - this little fella will be in with us for the first 6 to 12 months so I've been looking at things that match our room. We have dark furniture so we bought a dark colored (kind of espresso in color) crib & I've been wanting something that wont clash with our room (I know I know I'm anal) - was looking at JCPenny today & I think I found the set I want AND it's on sale, which I love!

It's the Puff Baby Bedding (cream color) it's simple but I love simple - unless I can find something else equally cute & for a good price I'm pretty sold on this one. They have some pretty cute sets! I love all of the colors on the Zoo Zoo bedding set that they have.

And Nicole - I saw a set that reminded me of you! They have it in green AND pink so perfect for either gender. Carter's® Elephant Stitch Baby Bedding. Isn't that cute!? Lol

Have any of you bought bedding or cribs yet? Would love to see if you have a link!

We are just going with what we did with both the boys.

But the bunny will not be in this one. With Jacob we had a little rattle teddy bear, the rabbit was what Jacob created at a build-a-bear type place for his little brother. We are going to go again after the baby is born and let him make one for this one. We are going to wait until the baby is here so he knows what type of animal. Girls get different types, ya know. Wink

This set was a GREAT wal-mart special 7.5 years ago ;). The set (blanket, sheet and bumper) cost me $40. Yahoo AND the best part?! It's lasting through all three of our children. Can't beat that! Lol

Oh, and the Crib was from sears 7.5 years ago for $200. Smile

Love both sets!! I really love the elephants on baby stuff lately. But we're not getting a full sized crib.
This is our crib, haven't ordered it yet but I'm sure this is the one we'll get. We're doing the cherry color, nice that it can be converted to a twin bed but we're doing bunk beds for the boys so we won't use it for a twin.

He'll be in our room in the crib for a while so I am hoping to do blues and browns for his sheets since that is what ours are too. I like a few fabrics so far.
I really like this one- http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog/productdetail.jsp;jsessionid=842A2070FE8F545685C098AD5086E232.a3p1?CATID=cat3597&PRODID=xprd1131316

I am also considering a blue argyle fabric (same snuggle flannel), and wouldn't be opposed to a plain colored blue sheet (if I could find a blue that matches our bed set). Until I get the crib I won't know if it's worth sewing a dust ruffle (though from the pictures I think it'll work)....that'll probably be a plain color matching whatever fabric I pick for sheets. We'll see, summer is busy and I don't see getting a lot of time to sew. The sheets will definitely get done, dust ruffle is kind of low on my list.

I don't know that we will do anything special. The girls will be in the PNP in our room for as long as I can keep them there and then they will be moving into the room with Izzy. The crib we have (Izzy is still in it) is antique white and I still have her crib set so I will probably just use it. We might paint the room a pale liliac, but I'm not certain about that either. Baby will be in our room for a long time (Colin was in our room until 6 months) so I haven't looked at much except pack n plays. DH has said I can get whatever I want since we were supposed to be done after two and got rid of everything! I'm really waiting until I find out the gender before I really start shopping but I've always wanted to go with a hello kitty theme for a girl Smile

SO wants a sports theme but I saw this really cute lion king bedding the other day and fell in love with it. I'm sure it will be sports but I'm still looking.

Just a word to those getting cribs that convert into beds... buy the conversion kits now. The crib we have was one of those and we weren't ready to move DS#1 into a bed until he was almost three and by then you could no longer get the conversion kit for the specific crib that we bought. I felt kind of ripped off and we didn't want to purchase a kit that "might" work with it, so we ended up accepting a twin frame and headboard set from DH's uncle. All-in-all it worked out for us to put him straight to the twin size bed anyway, but if you want to get your money's worth and use the crib for the length of time you expect to use it after the baby no longer is a baby.......

Just a tip.

Yeah, those kits can be expensive too! We didn't pick the crib because it converts and won't be using it converted but I looked and it's $100 for the conversion kit alone. I don't know. I'd rather get the crib I like and then down the line pick a bed that I'll like more for their big kid room. I'm pretty excited for it to all come together. I have a cousin who is due Sept. 1st on facebook and she posted pictures of her nursery the other day. It's completely done except for hanging a few things...it made me feel so behind even though I know there's time Lol Technically I have a complete nursery...it's just it is and will be in use Blum 3

I bought a blue and brown bedding set at a consignment sale the other day. I couldn't find a pic online because I don't think they sell it anymore, and it's still packed up (DD is still in the crib at the moment) so I will have to post a pic another day. It's not my favorite, but it was the right colors and $60 (including a mobile), so I went for it. I LOVE the Peter Rabbit set they have at Pottery Barn Kids, but it was just too expensive. I'd rather spend more money on their "big girl/boy" room since they'll have that stuff for longer.

I LOVE seeing what everyone chooses, you all have really good tastes - I don't know why but I have always loved nursery's & all the fun & cute things that go with them. Probably why I do something different with each child Lol

Lenora - I used that set with my 4th son! He was my little prince. It's SO cute!!

Erin - that green is so pretty! Do they sell it anymore? I would be mighty tempted to use that set too - I love simple.

Mandi ~ that fabric from Joann's is adorable! Oh I jut love it - if you do end up using it & making something out if will you pretty please share pictures? I'd love to see the final product.

Beautiful nurseries!!

I'll definitely post pictures once everything is all set up. I'm pretty sure I'm going with that fabric, the only issue is I haven't gone to Joanns in so long I'm not sure if the one near me carries that fabric but I really like it so I'll probably end up ordering it if they don't. I'm sure I'll want to sew up several sheets before baby gets here, and from what I've heard it's super easy and only takes a yard of fabric (for the portable/mini cribs).
