Big baby

I had a u/s today done by a girl that works in radiology. She was just being nice and doing it just because we weren't busy. We did measurements on him to see how big he was since I am measuring so large. OMG!!!! I think I'm growing a sumo wrestler! I am 35 wks today and he is measuring around 37 wks or so. Estimated weight.....

7 pounds 5 oz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He's huge! I'm really hope that it isn't right. I'm actually going to run by my OB office tomorrow to see if I can get a Rx for my hemorrhoids that will help better than OTC stuff. I plan on seeing if I can talk to him and let him know my concerns. Yesterday and today, he's been moving but not as much as normal. But, moving enough to meet the kick counts. Basically, I just know too much and have seen too much. I know my dates are correct from LMP and O date. So, my plan is to pick his brain and get him to do a u/s at my appt Monday while DH is there and see if she was just off. Gosh I hope she was!! Just wanted to share my fear!

Yikes! I'm starting to have fears about having a big baby too... no real foundation for it- I had the same fears with DD and she was 7 lbs 6 oz when she was born at 41 weeks. But DH was 9 lbs 9oz so I'm afraid they'll get his genes ;-). I know you know this, but ultrasound estimations of weight can be SO far off, so try not to worry too much. My FIL is an OB, and he refuses to give weight estimations from ultrasounds because he says they can be so far off that all they really do is stress people out! I hope that the tech was wrong!

Im starting too also, actually.

My u/s last week (31+5) showed her to be 4 lb 11 oz + or - 11 oz. And that's with 8 weeks to go!

However, Im not putting a TON of stock in it, as Brayden measured 9 lbs according to my OB last time, and he was a whopping 6 lb 6 oz on his due date.

Well lets hope it's off by a pound in the smaller direction WinkLol
I feel like this baby is big, but I really have absolutely no reason to other than it just feels like my stomach is packed full of baby already, he did measure big until my last appointment and at that one he actually measured small. All my other kids were pretty normal to small for their gestational ages and both dh and I were about 7.5 lbs and both of us were overdue....so maybe just big for me?

Just like everyone sd we know these are only estimates and they measurements can be way off! I have had big babies (look @ the post yesterday) and its really not that big of a deal. DD had some sugar issues right after birth, but nothing else. I hope you are just just gonna have a big healthy baby!

I had a growth scan done at 35ish weeks with H cause I was measuring 41, and they estimated she was already 7.5 lbs. Was induced at 40 +5 and she weight 7 lbs 13 oz at birth. Slight over estimation at that scan I think!

I hope for your sake that they are just as inaccurate! We usually tell parents by near term they can be off by + or - a pound!

What a big and whacky estimate! Hopefully that's not what it really is and the tech was just way off lol.

I know they can be off. I'm just freaking out a bit for other reasons also. Gonna make a separate post about that. It's just scary to think he could be close to 9-10 lb in 4 more wks. LOL!
