Bought my breast pump!

I am trying to be over prepared with this LO because of my PPD with DD. I went through 3 breast pumps with DD, all single both manual and electric.

I spurged yesterday and bought a Medela Freestyle. After reading the reviews, I figured it was worth the money for a bit of peice of mind (especially if I need to get out of the house for a breather - I was never away from DD for the first 6 months)

Anyone have any experience with this model?

I've heard good stuff and bad stuff. Smile
I've used a PIS... some people say the freestyle is no better.

but it's at least a lot prettier... so hopefully for you it's even better!

I have a PIS and I love it! I hope the Freestyle will work just as well for you!

I have the double Pump In Style and it has worked great! Although, I was ever able to get either of my previous two kids to take a bottle regularly. Sad

I have a medela also and I love it, I actually got it when I was pumping for my oldest almost 7 years ago and it's still going strong!

From everything I've heard from other mommies, medela is definitely the way to go. I had a terrible time with my pump with DD (I think it was an ameda???) so this time I'm going to be borrowing my friend's medela pump in style, which I think is similar to the freestyle. Everyone I know who has a medela has nothing but good things to say about it- I hope it works well for you!

I have a freestyle, I liked it a lot with Brayden except that sometimes the bra clips didnt hold the horns on tight enough and they'd leak. it was a LOT more portable, which was nice.

I am totally biased towards Medela as thats what all our mums at work use. Good choice! For people buying second hand or borrowing from a friend, you should replace the tubing, as studies have shown minute amounts of EBM can get into the tubing, which is an infection risk and a breeding ground for yucky bugs. You can't truly clean the tubing.

Yay!

I don't know if I'm going to get one or not. I didn't BF with DS but I think I may try this time. I'm just a very modest person and I don't feel real comfortable with it. So, we'll see.

I had a single electric with DD, and I ended up using it a lot more than I thought I would, I kinda burnt it out!
I plan to get a freestyle this time around...I'm excited about it!

This was me exactly! One of the cons I heard about the pump was that it was noisy, I find it very quiet! I am so excited!

Thanks for all the feedback!

I suppose I should get out my pump and make sure it's clean and/or see if I can get replacement tubes or something. Sadly, it's not a medela but it worked for me just fine last time and I can't afford a brand new pump.
