Time for Bragging...whats all the babies doing these days????

Both babes are on the verge of crawling (and I'm dreading it). I thought it would be a while before this happened considering they are just mastering rolling (B is better at it then K, but I think K will master crawling first). They still have a hard time sitting unassisted, although K will stay in a sitting poistion better then B, but neither can pull themselves up into a sit. They are both eating solids, although I havent perfected their eating schedule yet, I'm still go with the flow. K likes everything you put in front of her, but B is very picky, especially with textures. All in all, they are wonderful and I'm enjoying every moment with them (besides the night feedings, I could do without them!)

Caught Evie trying to pull herself to standing in her crib today. She wasn't quite able to do it, though it was cute watching her try. Smile

Ronan is also trying to pull himself up to standing, although he hasn't managed it yet (thank goodness... I'm not ready for that yet!)

The little man is crawling all over the house. Sort of a combination of army crawling and regular crawling. He sits unassisted and can go from lying down to sitting up on his own (through a hilarious sort of baby yoga move... basically downward dog). He is eating everything that is not nailed down. Seriously... it's impressive the amount of food this child can put away. He is eating us out of house and home. I thought that didn't happen until the teenage years?! Wink

He "talks" to us, but his favorite thing is growling. He's a happy little guy!

Audrey is sitting unassisted really well, with only the occasional topple backwards. She also self-corrects really well if she is starting to tilt. She is starting to get up on her knees the last couple of days too, and you can tell she wants to move! She rolls well both ways as well. She is also super chatting, and does this closed lipped talking that is hilarious!

She is also lifting her prosthetic arm up a lot more the last couple of days, which is awesome cause that thing is heavy!!

How will her prosthetic arm affect crawling? ( I hope you're not offended by my asking, I think its amazing she is doing so well with it)

CJ is doing much of what your babies are doing. He's trying to crawl, but mostly just scoots and moves backward. He loves to sit on his alphabet mat and play and he's pretty steady at this point. Solids are going ok. He loves to eat but he's a messy eater and he can't handle different textures just yet. He stares longingly at our food to the point that you feel guilty eating in front of him, but he's going to have to wait for that. He is trying to pull himself up to standing and he's almost there but not quite. He also started doing the reaching for me things with arms completely outstretched, which I can never refuse unfortunately...I'm such a sucker Wink

Not offended at all!

According to our OT, she will likely learn to crawl just fine without it, probably something like an army crawl. She weight bears really well on the little arm already. We will also try to get her to learn with the prosthesis, but have to balance the time with the arm on and off. We can position it in a way that she should be able to use it for crawling.

Selah is rolling everywhere these days. She squawks when she wants something: food, diaper change, location change. She is now in her own room... has been for almost a month now. She wakes one to two times a night. We are working on getting her to sleep longer. Just this week, she has started eating a lot more food. We're on three meals a day now. She really is so much fun... fun to play with, fun to hold, fun to feed. My big kids are LOVING playing with her. She lights up whenever her siblings come into the room.

Alice is sitting up very well. Occasionally she falls over but it is usually on purpose. She tries to move around but just scoots backward still. She had apples (with banana) yesterday for the first time and loved them, ate the whole thing. Yesterday I noticed she understands cause and effect. She knows if she pushes a key on her baby piano or computer, they will light up and sing (I was SO proud watching her figure it out). She is finally liking her sister. For a long time dd1 couldn't hold Alice b/c Alice would start crying, but now she'll sit with dd1.

Kaylee started crawling yesterday and Brad is right behind her. I knew it was coming because they were getting up on their knees and rocking. Things just got a lot crazier!

Today Evie started two new skills. She is clapping now (not at anything, just she can do it and is awe struck by watching her hands do it).. and she's starting to get from sitting to hands and knees. She's not very good at the later, but it's a start.

Maya is sitting very well, she loves to clap her hands and loves to play peek a boo with DS. Too Cute.
