Carpel tunnel??

Ok, so i'm pretty sure I have pregnancy induced carpel tunnel Sad I asked my dr about it a few weeks ago at my last appointment but he just wrote it off as swelling or the fact that I might have arthritis. I was frustrated but took it as "he's the doc he knows what he's doing." Especially since I looked it up and I had all over swelling and soreness from my wrist to my finger tips and all the sites said it usually effected certain areas, not all over.

Well 2 nights ago I woke up with extreme pain in my middle fingers and thumbs. my fingers went numb and as they were waking up it felt like they were on fire  to the point where i had to get up and check my hands in the bathroom. Now it's getting worse, every night I'm up 4-5 times in pain and when I wake up in the morning it hurts to just hold my toothbrush Sad

Has anyone else had to deal with this? I'm pissed that the dr didn't take me seriously last time but I'm pretty sure there is nothing i could have done to avoid it. anyone have any advice? the pain is so bad......

I think Star has it! I have numbness in my right fingers and I was told it was carpel tunnel but no associated pain.

I hope you feel better!

Yes, I do and it SUUUUUCKS.

Go buy wrist braces at the store - the kind that have a little metal plate in them that hold your wrist at a certain angle. Wear those when you sleep. It helps. It's not GREAT, but it helps. Also, drink as much as you possibly can - that'll help flush out the extra fluid and take some pressure off.

I've never had it but my friend had it with her first pregnancy. She wore wrist bands that seemed to help. Once she had the baby, it didn't take long for it to go away. Sorry you are dealing with this, hope it clears up quickly.

Yep, and I'm dealing with it the same way you are- just waking up and sucking it up! I should try to the braces, but I'm sooo close to the end that I hate having to go buy more stuff!
