Choosing names yet?

So, has anyone starting picking names yet? I know it is early but we always choose names early so that we can make sure that we like it over time.

I've been thinking about names but dh won't discuss it at this point. When we find out what baby is dh might talk more. I'm pretty much just hoping we can narrow it down to 2 names and then choose whichever fits at the birth. We did that with DS and I thought it worked well. I am pretty set on my girl name...but lately I've been liking a few others as well. So nothing set but it's been on my mind

We have first names for both boy/girl and working on middle names. Our Boy name is Jacob and our girl name is Maya.

I try to get DH to talk about names even when I'm not pregnant- lol! We have a boy name and a girl name that we both like (miracle of miracles) but we probably won't decide for sure until we find out what we're having. Then we'll start talking about it again to make sure we want to stick with the name we have in mind.

We've had a boy name picked out for awhile now because we never found out what we were having with my other two pregnancies (and we needed to pick a boy name and girl name) I also have a girl name (but will need to be in agreement with DH). I think he will be fine with it. He isn't too picky!;)

Boy- Micah James
Girl- Johanna Rose

We had a conversation and allowed eachother to pick three names for a girl (I got to choose) and a boy (he got to choose) Then we'd pick the one out of the three we both agreed upon.

Girl - Thalia Marie
Boy - Miguel Anthony

I was surprised he actually picked Anthony as that was my dad's name and both of my older brothers middle names. Miguel is his middle name. He's a Jr. and he was adamant about not wanting to make a III should it be a boy (which I was happy with).

We have 1 girl name... Leah Claire.
I think that after we have the gender scan we are going to have to start right away to figure out other names, because I am drawing a blank!

We have a girl name picked out, Evelyn Janelle but I got nothing for a boys name and don't have the desire to try to find one ATM. DH is not creative at all and is usually not helpful in creating a list, just narrowing it down (very fast.. there are few names he likes that I have ever put on a list).

Boy: Kieran Joseph Edward
Girl: Julia Christine Hope

We chose

Boy: Simon Wesley(not sure about the Chinese name)
Girl Simone ____ Mei-Li

The names are after my late MIL who we lost in April of last yr. DH suggested Faith as a middle name, but last ight said he needs to think about it for a few days.

we will wait until we know the gender-we are horrible at agreeing at names so best to narrow it done to at least 50% fewer.

If it's a girl, I really want the name Rebekah. If it's a boy, we have no idea. I like Andrew, but I don't think the husband does. Biggrin

Love both of those! DH won't let me use Jacob (he has too many Jacobs on his side of the family), but I love the nn Jake. Maya keeps growing on me more and more, but again, DH has put the NO stamp on it.

Same story here!

Love both of those! Again, DH has vetoed both. Le sigh.

AFM: I have been dreaming about baby names for, um, 20 years. ROFL But in the last year or so, I started an Excel spreadsheet and added names to it whenever I came across one I liked. Normally I can only get DH to listen to one or two at a time before he loses interest, but a month or so ago I had him trapped in the car with me on the way out of town, and we discussed every single name on my list!

He didn't have any names to add, but he did let me know which ones of mine he liked best, which ones he really didn't like, and the "eh" ones (which I might just have to work harder to get on the first list Wink ).

So anywho, we don't have set names yet, but we've narrowed it down a lot more than we had by this point with DD.

And of course I've been playing with first-middle combinations. I'll wait to run those by him till at least after the u/s. Biggrin

Side note: With DD (team green), we picked a boy name fairly quickly and narrowed down the middle to a couple choices- it was going to be DH's decision after the birth. "Abigail" was a name I had suggested early on that was on his "eh" list (he thought it was too old-fashioned), but we kept coming back to it, and it grew on both of us. I narrowed down the middle names to about 5 choices and wrote them all out at 35ish weeks, and he ranked them. After she was born, we looked at each other and decided on her middle name (#2 on his ranking).

(How is that for a long post? Sorry for the novel! lol)

Love Rebecca/Rebekah! It goes so nicely with your son's name, too.

I was really hoping to be able to use Lillian for our girl, we were still playing with middle names. Claire & Scarlett were both on the top. But looks like we get to play with boy names again - Cedric is in the running for now but that may change.

I love the name Claire! I don't think it goes with the rest of our kids names very well but it's definitely one of the top contenders for middle names. One of the girl names that has been growing on me has been Liliana, and calling her Lily. The only thing is the popularity...the other girl name I like is much less common.
Boy names...eek. We have a tough time with boy names. DH is pretty much assuming that it's between Isaiah (his pick from last time that we didn't use) and a Jr...I'm not so convinced but I am not even going to attempt to argue it until we know the gender of this baby, especially since I have no ideas to add to the mix Lol
It's funny, with the girls I was so sure of our boys names and with DS and this time I was more sure of our girls names, part of why I think it must be a boy this time Lol We just aren't destined for an easy time naming our babies. DD1 was going to be Christopher and DD2 was going to be Dominic...both are off the table at this point fo various reasons.

Evelyn is our girl name as well! Love it! It's a family name on my side.

We've had the names picked out for a long time!

Boy: Jacob Henrique
Girl: Abigail Faye

Henrique is my grandfather's name (and my brother's middle name) and I am currently totally obsessed with the name Henry, but most people give me a face like "You can't be serious" when I was tossing it around. So I settled for Henrique as a middle name, to both be able to use Henry, and acknowledge my side of the family

Faye is DH's grandmother, and a beautiful, amazing lady. Her and I totally connected on my first trip to meet his family, and even though she appears to have dementia now (which is HEARTBREAKING to watch) I still love her and want to honor her. Is it wrong to admit that Abigail is after Abby from NCIS? Cuz it totally is Wink

Nothing wrong with that at all. DD1 loves that show and Abby is her favorite character so I laughed when I read that. Both girls always say they want "Abby hair" when they want to have pigtails. Smile

I love talking about names!

We have had a boy name picked out for a while, Dane Joseph. Joseph was dh grandfathers name that passed away years ago. For a girl, we just can't decide. Dh has not loved one yet. I LOVED Leah Ashton but he was not into it. The only other names he has not completely shot down are Ashlyn and Madison. I can't think of a middle name for either of those first names

We haven't decided on anything, but so far for a boy we like Nico or Paul and for a girl we like Faith.

I've always loved the name Faith, but it doesn't work with our last name.

I forgot to say that you ladies will be the only ones I tell the name choices to. Too many horror stories of loved ones hating the name, so we keep it a surprise.

I think this babe is going to be a tough one to name.

I have the hardest time with boys names - there's almost nothing I like! I have had my heart set on Lucas for a very long time, it was my beloved grandmother's maiden name, and it is also my middle name. I have always thought if I had a boy, I'd name him Lucas. The problem is that all of a sudden it's become freaking popular! I swear every other little boy is Luke or Lucas! I hate the idea of using popular names, so now I'm not sure what to do...

As for a girl...I have been in love with the name Elise since I was 8 and the family living next door had a baby with that name. Luckily DH also loves it, so we at least have a girl's first name picked out. I've got nothing for middle names yet though Sad If we do have another girl she'll probably have Lucas as her middle name so I can at least carry that name on.

Anyone have ideas for classic, strong names that aren't trendy or popular for boys? It has to go with Claire...:)

We have a couple names picked out but they could change once we find out the gender. I thought I had a boy and a girl name picked out for DS#2 but when we found out he was a boy DH vetoed my boys name almost as the words "it's a boy" came out of the u/s techs mouth.
For a girl we like Falynn and for a boy we like Rylan. My other kiddos names are Aiden and Colin, I really like names ending in "N" lol.

We have a few names picked for a girl taht we both really like:

Olivia Marie
Elizabeth Marie
Savannah Marie

Leaning towards Olivia, but that may very well change LOL. Marie is my families middle name, so i am keeping it.

boys:

Caleb Scott (Scott is Dh's middle name, trying to keep it if possible)
Domick ?
Bryce (after my best friends sone who died right after birth)

we are having a hard time with boys names. girls are so easy! DH wont even think about until the gender scan. luckily its only 2 weeks away.

I had a girl's name picked out, but since I'm pretty sure the tech was right- we need to look seriously at boy names...

I suggested Noah- I think it's a cute name and Noah Joshua is what I suggested (because Hubby's baby brother died a year ago and his name was Josh), but Hubby said, "No- that's like 'do I know a Joshua'?" So he has basically veto'ed Noah completely.

So I named a kitten Noah that I'm planning on keeping. LOL.

We have talked about a few names but not too seriously. I think we are both a little gun shy after the m/c. We know that was awhile ago but it has been hard. I think after we know the gender of the baby it will make things easier and more real.

Since the baby is going to be half Irish, I'm very determined to have at least one part of the name of Irish decent.

Girl- Kiara Lynn (lynn was my grandmother who was like my mother)
Boy-Jaylyn Patrick (he picked out Jaylyn)

Guess we'll know for sure after next week...:yahoo:

We have both a boy and a girl name. Though we are still toying around with different boy names. Though our boy name now is about 99% for sure.

we have a boy name picked out since DD(incase she was a boy) and if we find out we are having a girl then i've got some thinking to do! as far as boy names...carson jacob is the name in reserve, but we also love the name zander, so if we can come up with a middle nam we like with it then that will most likey be it!

Our girl name is: Kyla Rae (100% sure)
Our boy name is: Corbin ____ (Still wavering - DD would have been Corbin had she been a boy so at least it has stuck with us)

It's too early for us to begin thinking. I have tried to think of a girls name I might like but I never get to thinking for very long lol. Hubby and I both agree that our boys name we had since DD1 might not be an option anymore. It's not a bad name by any means, we just both aren't sure if we like it 'now'. Of course, we won't know what I'm having till May when we go for our 3D ultrasound and find out what this little bean is, then the name game can really begin. I figure anyways, no point in having our heart set on something till we're 100% sure what it is, then we're not disappointed we're not using a name for the opposite gender that we really love.

We just recently joined Team Green, so now we HAVE to come up with a boys name! Smile

Our girls name is totally agreed upon now. Evelyn Janelle

I don't really have the desire to look at boys names just yet, I will wait a little while longer to start that list, I think.

I saw this post a while back, but I hadn't come out of "lurking" yet. You all have picked out some great names!

If we have a girl, her name will be Selah Elianah. If we have a boy we are debating between Ezekiel (will go by Zeke) Gianni or Zachary (will go by Zack) Gianni.
