Diaper rash

Poor Brad has a horrible diaper rash. I noticed he was a little red and usually I put some sudocream on it and it's gone with the next diaper change. This time around I was out of sudocream so I used some penatene cream someone had bought me. When we went for the next diaper change his bum was extremely red and raw. I think he's allergic to that cream. Anyway, I've tired very cream and am now using corn strach. Anyone have any other suggestions to help? The poor baby screams every time I am changing him, even if I'm only using a warm cloth.

Have you tried Butt Paste? It clears Andrews diaper rash up almost instantly.

You still nursing? Put breast milk on it and let it air dry (as long as possible). It's awesome!

I've seen this kind but haven't tried it yet. I'll give it a whirl.

I've never heard of this before. I'm trying it in the morning. Thanks ladies.

I swear by butt paste. CJ did have a really bad diaper rash that I had the pedi look at when he had his 6-month appt. and for that one she actually prescribed nystatin which cleared it up right away.

If Butt paste doesn't work Try Triple Paste.

A couple of things to keep in mind. Nystatin is for yeast, usually looks red and raised, but typically not painful to the baby. Try to avoid anything than has zinc in it if there are open areas. To heal, your best bet is air, breast milk, and possibly something prescription if it looks like it is getting infected (we used something called Fucidin when ODD had a wicked open weeping rash). My experience (both with my ODD and in the NICU) is that for prevention, triple paste (sometimes called Isle's paste) is the best, unless you are in cloth, in which case you can't use it.

Try lots of nakey bum time, and if its really bad get a call in to your doc for something stronger to help it heal. Poor Brad!
