To Do Lists?

Who still has a to do list, and what do you have left to do/purchase/set up etc? Here's my list:

NAMING HER! - Ugh. This is the most important in my books, however everytime I mention her being 'nameless' or 'I guess we'll just name her munchkin", or anything along the lines of naming her, hubby totally ignores me and we just carry on doing whatever. This is so frustrating, and I seriously think I'm close to just saying fine, name her what you want. I even said last night if she was a BOY we'd probably have a name picked and ready to go by now, and that even got ignored :(.

Getting the carseat ready - I said we'd do that maybe next weekend, but last night when hubby was talking to her, he said he thinks that'll be on our list of to do this weekend, 'just in case'.

Wash bouncy seat cover - Since we gotta strip down and wash the carseat inserts, that'll be done this weekend as well, then stored in my room, rather than the basement.

Pack Hospital Bag - That's my major thing to do this weekend, just because we never know how fast things will change. I need to wash/pack my reusable nursing pads, nursing bra, outfits for LO, soothers *once bought and sterilized*, brush and other toiletries for myself. I know they supply bodywash/shampoo there so I won't need to bring any of my own.

Last Minute Purchases: We need to buy small last minute things, like soothers, soother clips, bottles, bottle brush, body wash, etc. I need to make a definate list tonight as we're probably buying all that tomorrow. Of course, we'll need to sterilize the bottles and soothers and get them ready to go. We already have a case of diapers and just bought a huge case of wipes, so we're good in that area.

Buy Mobile: Hailey ended up not having one because it got broke when we moved, and we never bought one. I felt super bad that she got 'jipped' even though she had another toy that hung in the crib and did the same as a mobile, just not over her head. So, this baby will have one, just cause lol.

Put Away Her Clothes: I've had all her stuff washed but I had put it back in the bin because we didn't have a dresser for her. Tomorrow we're buying another dresser, so once hubby gets it together, her clothes will be sorted and properly put away.

Buy Her A New Blanket: For both the girls I've used this really soft pink blanket that was given to Heather as a gift when she was born. It was in the van and my son and I cleaned it out today while at the duck pond and Hailey saw it, and got super upset when I had said to just put it on the seat. She also wouldn't let me take it away from her, and sat in her seat clinging to it for dear life and snuggling it . So there goes reusing THAT blanket for the new one, Hailey won't give it up LOL.

I think that's about it. I have 2 digital cameras so I think I may empty the one card and get it all together and in my hospital bag, and keep the other camera and charger cleaned off and ready to go as well, but not packed just in case I take pics between now and delivery day. I'm sure upon reading other peoples lists I may remember other things I may need, but I think after this weekend, most of what I have/need to do will be done... at least that's what the plan is ;).

until DH decided to look for a new car, all we had to do was put in the car seat. he is going to try to get a vehicle before Kendra if possible so i have a feeling the carseat will wait until the last minute.

Oh and i need to put the camera in the bag to Smile

We don't have a whole lot left to do thankfully.

1. Choose a name-We have finally started making a list but it's not going well. Everything is just ok, nothing seems to fit. Chris says if we can't come up with a name the default is Christopher, which I'm not happy with, so we'd better get going.

2. Finish washing and putting away clothes and organizing nursery-I washed all his old stuff but I need to finish washing the stuff we just got.

3. Adjust straps on car seat-My dad installed the base on Sunday so all we have to do now is adjust the straps (or at least make sure we know how to do it quickly since it held us up at the hospital last time).

4. Finish crocheting his blanket- I've been lagging, especially when I got my ipad.

Well, we still have to name him but I'm not counting on that happening before he's born. I think I just need to see him.
Car seat isn't being installed until I'm in labor Lol I cleaned my car out last week in prep for installing another car seat, but we'll see if I need to clean it again.
I need to finish packing my bag, the kids' bags all need to be packed, I need to get the pack and play to my mom's house
I'd like to make a few more freezer meals
My house! I need to clean my house! I can't until next Wednesday but I'm counting down the days.
I need to wash the covers for the bouncer/swing but that will wait until baby is here too.
I have a few more things I'd like to buy but nothing that is absolutely needed.
We do either have to buy another wet bag or I need to sew a pail liner, we'll see. It's not urgent but definitely something we need to take care of sooner than later. I'm hoping to make it to Joanns to price out making a liner this weekend, depending on how much that is I'll buy the stuff or we'll just buy one.
I need to buy batteries! The other day I wrote my list of what kinds everything takes (mobile, bouncer, swing, monitors, ect)

I'm sure there's more...I feel like my list is ever growing, luckily most of it isn't absolutely necessary and can wait if needed

I have crossed alot of things off of my To Do list lately, but still have stuff that needs doing.

Pack the hospital bag - I've gotten as far as putting aside my robe and the blank notebook I want to bring with me. LOL!

Put the carseat base in the car - I want to be able to get this done this week, but not sure when.

Make sure the stroller fits in the trunk - I can't believe I've waited this long to make sure it actually fits in my car lol!

Thank you Cards from the baby shower - I want to get these done by next weekend.

Birth Announcement Cards - I want to have these done before the baby is here, so all I have to do is fill in the vitals, add a picture, and mail them off after he's born.

We're doing ok. We need to name our girl as well! We have to get our DD1 old clothes and swing which are stored somewhere else and get my bags pack. Other than that, we are doing ok. Hope you get everything done..it'll be a huge load off your shoulders.

Mine is still too long. I've been slacking the last couple of weeks!

1. Name him. I HATE that this is back on the list after I thought it was done.
2. Clean carseat cover and install carseat.
3. Finish up freezer meals. I've just about maxed out both of our freezers, but I have the ingredients for one more meal, so I should probably use them and actually make it!
4. Pack hospital bag (yes, I've passed the 38 week mark and still haven't done this).
5. Pack DD's bag (she'll be staying at a friend's house)
6. Buy or make curtains for DD's room. Obviously not a necessity, but something I really want to get done!
7. Print out my birth plan
8. Get a thank you gift/card for our friends who will be watching DD.

Ugh. I'm so unmotivated!!!!!

I've been the same way Heather, some days I do great (I did finally make the big brother/big sister shirts this week and packed baby's bag, finished up baby laundry) but for some reason I just can't bring myself to finish packing my bag. Like if I just don't pack it I won't go into labor Lol

I crossed a lot of things off the list today... just have a few things on my list.

1. Pack hospital and diaper bag... I have the diaper bag started.
2. Charge all batteries for video and regular camera and put in suitcase.
3. Install infant seat, but this will have to wait for a little bit because I have a friend coming next weekend and she is flying here, bringing her 5 month old and they are just going to use our seat, so I'll have to readjust it after she leaves.
4. We need to get the cradle back from the fix-it man (should be done in a week and a half).
5. I might try and pick out birth announcements before we head to the hospital, but that's not a neccessity.
6. But batteries for the bouncy seat, I was short one today when I went to change the batteries.

That's really just about it! Smile

I've given up on getting the furniture for now...we have a bassinette so that's all we really need for the first few months anyway. I still need to do a few things though:

1. Decide on middle names!!!
2. Pack hospital bag
3. Pack diaper bag
4. Pack an overnight bag for DD in case this one's born at night also, she'll have to stay overnight with my parents.
5. Install car seat
6. Need a new diaper pail liner and I need to make some inserts for 3 of my newborn pocket dipes.
7. I'd like to get DD a "big sister" t-shirt
8. I need a couple more nursing bras, and also a pump and some more bottles, but I don't plan to start pumping until our nursing relationship is well established, about 6 weeks, so that's not an immediate need.
9. Definitely want to stock up the freezer so we have stuff for at least the first 2 weeks!

It seems like a lot of us still have PICK A NAME on the to do list! Lol are we slackers, or just unfortunate? Lol

Pick a boys's name DH thought we had this done the 6th of August, and he just couldn't accept it last night that the name we "agreed on" is out (btw, we didn't agree on it at all, I just threw it out there and he said maybe... how is that agreeing?).

Pack the boys' duffle bag I haven't done this yet, cause DS#1 wants to pack his with his "favorite" clothes.

Other than those two items, I only have basic housework to do (laundry, dishes, etc). I was doing good with keeping up with laundry, but this week has been a bad emotional week for me, so I've been slacking. Bottom line is, if I went into labor and to the hospital today, I'd be rushing to make sure DH and the kids had clean clothes to wear for a few days. At this point, I don't think DH even has something to wear tomorrow without having to dig through clean laundry baskets (which, btw, he's completely incapable of doing.).

Unfortunate in my case!! Since we knew we were having a girl when I had the 3D u/s back in JUNE, I've been trying to get this little girl named! We made it as far as looking online, making a list "it has something like, 5 names on it " and that's it. Hubby has his name HE wants, I want to consider other's before I bow down to what he seems to only want. SIGH.

Well, in our defense, if this baby were a girl we'd have a name Eliana Claire....but he's a boy. I'm elated that he's a boy, but dh and I just do not agree on boy names. He'd be Ezra if I had my way, dh is stuck on Isaiah....and there are still plenty of other names on our 'list' that we could end up with too.

We are having such a hard time coming up with names. We have had a lot of visitors too and Chris has been working a lot of late nights so we haven't had any time to talk about it much with just the two of us.

Our list doesn't have very many names on it and they are all names that are just ok. None of the names seem to fit. Chris really wants to name the baby after him but I'm just not feeling that either. Brandon wants to name the baby Spiderman Christopher Leonard (Leonard is my dad's name), lol. Maybe I just need to see him first.

All I have to do now is pack DS1&2's bags, for when they stay with my sister while I'm in the hospital. My hospital bag is packed except for DH's clothes. I pretty much have every thing, we set up the swing yesterday, I still need to set up the playpen and bouncer but haven't decided where to put them yet. Heheh! Now all I need is the BABY!!

Pack my bag

wash clothes

set up bunk beds for the girls

Move DS' bed into his room

move bassinet and pack and play into our room

Figure out the dresser situation. I think we mostly have it figured out, but we just need to get the wheels set in motion.

move car seats around in the van

I have been productive! My list is dwindling.

1) Buy pump.

2) Buy diapers.

3) Finish packing hospital bag (but it will be last minute stuff like toothbrush, phone charger, etc- the major stuff is packed).

I think that's it!

Well my to do list got very small this weekend! We bought the last of the small things, just need to sterilize but that's nothing. Baby girls clothes are put away in the dresser now, her bag is packed, I just need to get some stuff together for myself. We didn't get the stuff washed for the bouncer/car seat, but again, that's nothing either.

Last major thing to do is.... NAME HER.

I still have a LONG list of things to do before baby gets here...and not much at all got accomplished this weekend. So the next 4 weekends are going to have to be a lot more productive than this one was.

We got almost everything knocked out this weekend. I revamped my birth plan, packed the hospital bag(s), printed out a map/directions to the hospital (since we've never been there before), bought snacks to go in the hospital bag, and finished organizing a few things in her closet.

All I have left to do is sterilize my breast pump and pack last minute things in the hospital bag. We also have to get the cradle back from the fix-it man, but other than that. We are done... it think.
