Dumb diaper question

Hi guys.

We're traveling soon 1k miles away to visit family in Southern California. I was just wondering what size diapers your little ones are in right now? I'm not taking my cloth with me, and he hasn't been in disposables since they were size newborn I think, so I imagine he'd be a 2, but I don't know. I'm buying them online and having them shipped to my in laws so I don't have to deal with room to pack them.

He's definitely not small. He's in 3-6 month clothes and some of it is near outgrowing.

Thanks for the help. Smile

Flynn is in either a 2 or a 3 depending upon brand,

go by weight. Most diapers are sized by a weight range. I think size 2 on the green brand we occasionally use is 12-18 lbs.

It's always better to have too big than too small. Markus is 15lbs+ and wearing Pampers Size 3. He's in 6-12 & 12-18 month clothes (he's really long.)

If you buy them in the store, you can possibly exchange them for a different size if they don't fit.

We don't do too well if they don't fit just right. Too small and the poop goes up the back or front, too big and the pee goes out the legs. That being said, Evie is in size 2 Huggies Supreme secured as tightly as possible because the size 1s are just a little too small.

My little guy is in size 2 diapers. His last check was a few weeks ago and he was 13lbs. 8oz. but he's got to be at least 14 or 15 by now. He's outgrowing his 0-3 months and fits in 3-6 months.

I also agree to go by the weight when buying.

weight was never accurate for me. D#2 was in size 6 diapers (over 35 lbs) when he was just 22 lbs cause his chunky thighs and waist made it impossible to get the smaller ones around him. Same deal with months and weight ranges for clothes. Evie is the first for them to be accurate on. Here she is 4 months old and just starting to fit into the 3-6 months clothes. At this age, both my boys were in 6-9 months and up (depending on brand).

just saying for comparison, not to make this more difficult on you. Sad

When are you going? do you have any friends with baby's that do sposies you can try on? Does your ped have some on hand? Ours do up to size 2 I believe.

Kyla is 15lbs and size 3 huggies. She is in 6-9 months clothing (9 month sleepers because she needs the length).

Isaiah was just under 19lbs this week, so he's a big one! Lol He's in size 4 diapers and either 9 month or 12 month clothes (and my 2 year old DS can still fit into some 18 month!)
My kids have never gone by the weight on the packaging either. I'd probably go with 3s if I were you, that is the size my other kids were in the longest. I always size up because of the blowouts with sposies, we do cloth part time (I'd really like to get back to full time eventually...) but sposies definitely don't hold stuff in as well as cloth does.

Thanks all for the help. It sounds like a 2 would likely work.

He was 12 pounds at 5 weeks when my midwife came over and he's almost done with 3-6 month... so maybe I should bump up to a 3. I use 7th Generation when I need to use disposables, and they seem to be a little smaller than the weight guidelines say, plus they're not as absorbent as all the other ones.

We don't do doctors or any appointments, so I don't get a frequent update. I didn't know from 2 weeks until 11.5 months old how much my older baby weighed!

Thanks much. Smile
