Hobbies? Hmm.. You mean besides wasting time on the internet? Wink

My husband and I are advisors for a high school youth group.

Other than that, not a whole lot. I like being outside with my kid, and I used to sing at church, but haven't done that in a couple years.

How boring do I sound? Wink

What kind of vehicle to you drive?

What's the high temperature for today?

Google your first name and the name of the street you live on (together)... share the first link that is not a social network profile.

How many kids would be your ideal? I'd love 4-5. (DH once said 3-4, though he more often says we'll take it one at a time and see how it goes.)

Any pets? Got pictures to share? No pets here! Maybe when we feel like we're done having kids, and they are all older, we might get a dog. Maybe. Wink

What kind of vehicle to you drive? Ford Escape

What's the high temperature for today? Mid 50s, I believe. Right now it's upper 40s. DD has pinkeye, so we're quarantined in the house for the day till her antibiotics can kick in. I have no plans to venture further than the mailbox!

Google your first name and the name of the street you live on (together)... share the first link that is not a social network profile. Nothing terribly exciting- looks like high school track and field results.

Pictures of the family?
Oh this is sad, the most recent pic of DH I can find is from before Christmas, and it's not even a pic of all three of us! This is DH, DD, and MIL, working on a gingerbread house.

Favourite places to go in your town?
Fave restaurants- Red Robin, Bar Louie
Fave places to kill time with DD- play area at mall, kids museum, playground at local school, zoo (we get a yearly membership, and live close enough that DD and I can walk/bike there during the week)

I'll come back to this thread to work on wedding pics and birth story. DD is requesting (and needs) a bath.

How did you and DH meet? Wedding pics?
When I was in early college, AOL Instant Messenger and Yahoo Messenger were in their heyday (preFB), and I used both. Yahoo had (has?) something where you could make your profile for messenger, so I had a picture and some generic info on there, plus a random quote I had found by Walt Disney.

Bored one night, DH did a search for "Disney" through yahoo profiles, and mine was among the 50+ that came up. He sent messages to all of them, and I was the only one who replied. So glad I did!

He lived about 4 hours from my college town, and 2 hours from my hometown, and after talking for a while, we did the long-distance thing for a few years before getting married.

As for pics, I'm pulling them off FB, so I apologize if the sizing is wonky!

We chose not to see each other before the ceremony, so at one point, we came on either side of a door in the church so we could get a picture together, even if all we could see were each other's hands.

DD's birth story and pics?
I went for a regular appointment on a Tuesday, and the dr told me I was 4cm dilated. He offered to induce then, or let me wait it out and see what happened. I opted to wait.

Overnight Tuesday I felt a little crampy, but nothing obnoxious. Kind of like period cramps.

Wednesday morning at 5am, I woke up to pee, and when I got back to bed had my first recognizable contraction. Eight minutes later, had another. Decided it might take a while, so headed downstairs so I didn't wake up DH (and also so I could get on PO and update my BB, lol).

Contractions got stronger and closer together, and around 6am, I realized we needed to get moving. About 4 minutes apart then. Made it upstairs between contractions and shook DH awake.

Got to the hospital at 6:25, was standing next to the bed in triage about to change into the hospital gown at 6:26 when my water broke. Dilated to 10 at that point.

Held off pushing as long as I could (my doctor wasn't there yet). Started pushing at 7:20ish, doctor walked in a few minutes later in a suit, took one look at the situation and immediately turned around to go change.

DD was born at 7:35.

8lb 11oz, 20 3/4 inches long
Brand new, getting some skin to skin time

All cleaned up and covered

What are you most excited about when you bring this new baby home? This sounds so cliche, but I am excited to see DD interact with the little one. I know they won't be able to play together for a while, but I am excited to see DD in her new role as big sister, and caretaker, in a way.

I'm also excited for baby snuggles, and breastfeeding. I was lucky enough to breastfeed DD for two years, and though I'm sure working full time will make it much more challenging this time around, it was such a special thing we shared that I'm hoping to repeat to some degree with this one.

Awesome birth story! What a fast labor!!! No kidding! I joke with DH that as soon as I have my first contraction this time, we need to leave for the hospital. They say subsequent labors are quicker, right? Ooh that gives me an idea for a poll.. Stay tuned. Wink

Were you in any extracurricular activities in high school? What where they?
Anything and everything my (small, private) high school offered!
Soccer (spring and fall)- 4 years
Basketball (winter)- 4 years
Yearbook- 11/12
Chamber choir- 11
Worked at Dairy Queen- 11/12
Youth group- 11/12 (leadership role in 12th grade)
Tutoring/unofficial Big Sistering a girl from church- 11/12

I think the only thing I didn't do was volleyball, and that was just because it conflicted with fall soccer (and soccer is my first love).

Definitely taught me a lot about time management!

I love your birth story. Makes me wonder what on earth your dr was doing in a suit while doing rounds on a labor floor tho. lol

What do you do on the Internet besides PG and FB?

Have you been to Dinsey World/Land?

What is your favorite Disney movie?

Do you watch tv? If so, what do you like?

I love your birth story. Makes me wonder what on earth your dr was doing in a suit while doing rounds on a labor floor tho. lol Seriously! Especially since I had called him an hour or two earlier wondering if I should go in.. you'd think he would have been more prepared!

What do you do on the Internet besides PG and FB? That is the bulk of it. I'm also on a board with my girls from DD's BB, and there's a group of girls that were on a wedding planning board that migrated to a baby board that migrated to a different site altogether- I lurk more than post on that one.

Have you been to Dinsey World/Land? Went to WDW once as a kid with my family, once with then-BF and his family (where he proposed), and once this past year with DH and DD (and DH's family again). We'll probably go back in 4ish years?

What is your favorite Disney movie? Tie between Sword in the Stone and Robin Hood.

Do you watch tv? If so, what do you like? More than I would like! I watch Wheel of Fortune, Survivor, and CSI. I've been watching American Idol since season 1, but haven't been able to get into it as much the last couple seasons.

The tv is on a lot at our house, though. It is DH's go-to method for de-stressing after a long day at work, and there are a lot more shows he feels the need to tune in to. Cubs baseball, anything on History Channel or Discovery Channel (like Pawn Stars, American Pickers, etc), Food Network sometimes, etc etc.

I'm so tempted to just get rid of the tv for a month or two and see if we can kick the cable habit!
