failed GD test

So the doc office just called and I failed the test. I was at 140 and they want it under 130. I'm just so frustrated I don't know what else can go wrong and cause me more stress at this point. I mean seriously how can I gain only 9 lbs and possibly be diabetic? I called the hospital and they said just come in before 7 am tomorrow morning and I don't need an appointment for the 3 hour one. I know I may pass the 3 gr test but I'm just so frustrated at this point one more thing might just push me over the edge if it is possible.

:hugs: so sorry, I know you are strung out right now. I hope the 3hr test isn't too rough on you and you pass it with flying colors.

I'm sorry for the added stress. Hopefully you will pass the 3 hr. test.

At my OB office they do two GD tests, one at the first appt. When I was pg with Brandon I failed my first test but I passed the 3 hr. test with flying colors.

:bighug: I completely understand your frustration since I just went through the same thing... and went through it with my first pregnancy as well (and passed the 3 hour). I don't know if this will make you feel better or worse, but with my midwives, 140 is passing for the 1 hour test, so you would have passed by their standards. With that in mind, I think you'll pass the 3 hour with flying colors. The large majority of women who take the 3 hour pass it. I'm still waiting to hear my 3 hour results. I'm hoping that no news is good news at this point... my midwives sometimes do that, but usually they tell you whether or not to expect a call. Under 130 seems a little ambitious to me... most doctors/midwives consider passing to be somewhere between 135 and 140. I don't think you'll have a problem with the 3 hour. Just bring something to read and take yourself out some place nice to eat afterwards!

Bummer you have to do the 3 hr. If you were that close on the 1 hr, I bet you'll pass with flying colors on this one! Bring your laptop so you can surf PO while you wait. Wink

I bet it will go just fine. 140 is the *actual* cutoff, but a lot of docs will send those with lower numbers for the 3 hour just to catch the (EXTREMELY FEW) that somehow pass the 1 hour.

Dont fret about it. I am VERY curious as to why they're having you do it tomorrow - you're supposed to "carb load" for 3 DAYS prior to taking the 3 hour test to make sure the results are accurate, Im not sure how you can do that when you got your 1 hour results today and have been told to take it tomorrow.

Good luck!
