Our friends who got married in Mexico last month are having their at home wedding reception on Saturday night. DD is going to my parents for her first ever sleepover. Funny enough, I am not nervous or anxious, but I would be if it was with my in-laws!
We're taking her there Saturday morning, hanging out till lunch time, and then we'll leave. Drive the hour to the city where the party is. As the matron of honour and best man we'll be helping with set up and clean up, and then we're staying the night at the bride and groom's house (they are staying in the hotel). We'll hook up for brunch (after a little sleep in!!) and then head back to my parents to pick H up. I'm actually really looking forward to it! They have 10 acres in the country, and H and our dog Maya love it there. My parents also have cats, and H is obsessed with them.
The only thing that I worry a little about it is this is the first time she will sleep there in a realy bed. She's always been in the PNP there, but she's too big, and she's been in a bed at home since November. But...I just keep telling myself if she sleeps like crap its not my problem lol!! Nice parenting eh?
Sounds like fun! Izzy has never slept away from the house yet and we have got to do that soon! She is still in her crib, but I think we are going to move her very soon to a toddler bed. She is a creature of habit and I am afraid she will freak out and not sleep if we leave her else where, but it has to happen soon!
I'm sure she'll do just fine. Brandon loves going to my parents' house to visit. The in-laws have watched him about three or four times when we've been away on trips, but it's mostly my parents. We only left him a few times his first year but we are starting to leave him a bit more now. This will be the second summer my parents will have him for a week during the summer. It's hard to be away from him so long but they have so much fun together, going to parks, museums, the zoo, etc. I don't know how I'm going to feel about leaving this little guy overnight yet...

It sounds like fun for everyone! I'm sure she will do great! If she's used to sleeping in a real bed at home, then I wouldn't worry about it at all. I don't remember how old Catie was when she first spent the night away from us, but it was definitely before she turned two. She stays with friends of ours who she's used to seeing all the time- their house is like a second home to her, so it's no big deal. I hope you all have a great time!!!
I bet she'll have a blast! Sometimes I'm worried about how DD will act/eat/sleep when she's away from home, since it's not her normal routine, but kids are pretty adaptable, especially if they realize it is a different place with different routines, KWIM? (to a point, of course!)
Your parents will love having grandbaby time, too, I'm sure!
I bet she will do great! Sounds like she'll have a lot of fun.
That being said, I haven't left my two over night anywhere yet without us. We have visited family and friends all over the country and slept in many different hotel rooms all over Europe, but I have always been there with them. I haven't sent them off anywhere without me before. DS has spent three whole nights away from me and DD has spent 1 night without me so far. Mostly because of beng ex-military and never living by family, the opportunity to leave them hasn't happened very often.
