I am always asked at my appointments if I have any fluid leakage. I don't think that I am but I am not sure what I would even know what to look for. If I was leaking fluid, what would I be seeing/feeling/smelling/etc?

great question! Its a bit tricky to answer. For example, at my last appt my midwife asked me if i had any fluid leakage..I said "yes kind of a trickle every now and then." she seemed concerned at first and she checked me and she said she def. felt the extra fluid on her gloves. but I am asuming she didnt think it was amniotic fluid, because she didn't seem worried after she checked, and rambled something about my mucous plug so I guess that is what it is. I'd say as long as its not a steady stream or gush or bloody leakage, or smelly, it shouldn't be too concerning.
I leaked amniotic fluid with DS and thought I was leaking this pregnancy, but turned out it was just discharge that turned really watery (TMI) which is apparently common late in pregnancy.
With DS, it was constant! I remember waking up one morning and while walking to the bathroom, I had fluid running down my leg. It did this for 2 days until I decided it was time to tell the doctor and it turns out that my sac had ruptured at 34 weeks. The fluid is clear and almost smells sweet. That is the best I can describe it. If it's just every now and then and not constant then it's more than likely either urine or discharge. Hope this helps!

Since that was what just happened to me I can answer that. I woke up in the middle of the night and It felt like I was leaking pee a bit when I sat up in bed. When I went to the bathroom I felt down there and it was extra wet. There was no smell but to me it felt like the consistency of astroglide. Very thin consistency and slippery. I got up 4 times in the night and it was the same every time. I had never been "wet" before. It was totally different then mucous.
I seem to get watery discharge at the end of my pregnancies, with DS I actually thought my water broke but it didn't. So I don't think I'd know if I just had a leak

This is my second so I'm clueless as well. I don't even know what a BH or a contraction feels like.
