Funny Blog: Things you won't do, but end up doing as a parent!

This was posted by a friend on my facebook and I had to go and read it. It's so true and so funny. I absolutely LOVE it. There's different parts to it, too, and definately worth a read. Thought I'd share this, enjoy!

I know, it's priceless! I'm still finding more to read and it's all so very, very true! I can relate to ALL of it. There isn't one thing so far that I've read that I can't sit and think "Yep, I used to think that, now I DO that" lol. All the other parts are super funny.

Bahaha, love it!

My three biggies that I can think of right away were that 1) we would never cosleep (we ended up cosleeping off and on at various times), 2) my kid would never take a pacifier (had a pacifier by day 2, and it was a lifesaver), 3) my kid would not watch tv (Dora and Mickey are my 3 year old's BFFs..).

I just have to chuckle when a non-Mom (or soon-to-be Mom) vows they will never/always do things a certain way. Just wait, my friend, just wait! Flexibility as a parent will be your friend!

I totally agree about being flexable about things. I used to be one of those people that never could understand why people did certain things with their kids, but then I had my own and it all clicked. However, even though I'm now working on #5, I still see sooooooo many people doing things that I sit back and think "wow, isn't that kid a little too old to be doing that?" etc, but of course everyone has reasons for continuing doing things, BUT there has to come a time when you SHOULD stop doing things, kwim? I don't want to post anything in case I offend anyone, but some things are just a bit mindboggling to me.

Blogs like that need to be given to everyone that criticizes what us mommys do. No pacifier? Well YOU try dealing with a screaming baby who will gladly suck your finger and will gladly suck a pacifier. When it gives you quiet time AND sleep, you'll gladly stick that in their mouth. Running noisy things in the middle of the night cause it soothes a colicy baby? You bet you're gonna run whatever it is that will help that baby to settle down and let you sleep for even 10 mins. Thankfully I'm all for offering that soother when they're born if they're fussy and I never had a colicy kid but I would definately do what's needed to perserve the bit of sanity I do have left lol.
