Gas pain vs something else

How can I tell the difference between gas/constipation pain vs something else.

I have had almost constant achiness bordering on pain underneath my belly since just before the funeral I went to yesterday. I have lots of gas but the pain is different than where I usually feel it (I usually feel it along the sicks of the belly, this is underneath). I also have heartburn. But, I have a very dull lower back pain (although I have always had it on and off).

I am sure you are all sick of hearing about my bowel trouble, but after a second round of laxatives, I had a BM yesterday before the pain started so it shouldn't be constipation.

I called our local nursing health line and they always tell you to go into L&D but I don't want to go in for someone to tell me that I have gas.

I am leaning towards them being gas pains but when do I worry?

If they get worse...or remain consistent for a day or two I would be concerned. Another thought is that it might be the baby. I know I have had some intense pains under my belly and it is the little guy laying funny...sometimes it would last a day or two and was pretty painful. I'd give ur OB office a call and see what they say. I know u said u called a nurse not sure if that was at ur office.

In Canada, we don't always see an OB right away as in my case (I see my regular GP until after 32 weeks).

I am feeling kicks right at the area of achiness so I don't know if it is how they are laying. I am really thinking it is gas but boy, the thoughts can sure run through your head!

Thanks for responding!

If it doesn't go away, I might give the OB a call, just to be on the safe side. It could be gas or it could be the way baby is sitting. It could also still be from the constipation, if you didn't get it all out.

I could have written this myself yesterday. Except I haven't been constipated, but the last three times I've had a bm, they've been extremely painful in a crampy way, and then I'm suffering for hours later. Yesterday's was way worse than the previous ones and since I fell the day before it had me worried. I had back pain with it as well. I chose to take a nap and see what happened.

I'm feeling fine today.

I'm finding that I'm having this too. Especially first thing in the morning, when I have a really full bladder, once I pee I have a huge cramp - I think it's cause my uterus has been pushed up by the bladder for a while, so it's painful while it moves back down.
I also have frequent gas pains, I don't have a problem with constipation anymore, but some things I've eaten have made me have wicked air in my system. I find that those pains are temporary and quite intense. I think if it's more of a dull pain, and lingers, then you might have something to check out.
